I have an ipod shuffle. When I first plugged it in, it deleted the music that was on it. But, now, when I try to sync my playlist, it kicks out the connection to my shuffle. Am I missing something?

Are they local files (that you own as mp3's from other sources) you are trying to sync to the iPod?

You can't sync any content from Spotify's catalogue to an iPod Shuffle.
