My Question or Issue
I used to be able to sync local files from my desktop to Iphone without any problem but now its literally impossible. I even get a pop up saying if you own the song click here to learn more but it does not take me anywhere. A great feature but now impossible to use?

Hey @Jonathan9988, thanks for asking in the Community! 🎵
The local files feature has been updated. The new method requires you to enable the local files option in your app settings on each device, and the files must be present on the device where you want to enable this. The files may not automatically sync like they used to.
For more info about how to use this feature, please check out: Local Files
Let me know if you need help with anything else. 🙂

Hi @Amay I appreciate your response!! Shame that Spotify changed how the Local Files worked it was a great feature hope they bring the old method back.
Thanks again community star!! 😁
I am having this problem as well. All of the tracks are showing in the Local Files playlist on my iphone, but they won't play. Says to download from my computer, yet each song has the little green arrow to show that it's downloaded already.
This feature was what made Spotify so amazing! Why get rid of it? And am I reading this right? Are you saying the only solution is to take my music out of Apple Music and move it to Spotify?
In IOS, I have the Spotify folder in my files. I had one song there (for over a year) and it shows up in the local files list and plays just fine. I added another one today, and I can't get it to show up in Spotify. I have rebooted the app, rebooted the phone, updated the app to "show unplayable songs." It is definitely an mp3 file, I can play it from the file in the files app. I just can't see it in the app. I also got the "sync files" prompt that went nowhere. Help!
Hi @mzshoe,
Thanks for the reply.
Try renaming the file a couple of times. We've observed before this can cause issues, so hopefully with a different file name it will work for you as well.
Let us know how it goes.
