My Question or Issue

I see another post from 2021 with this same issue which means it was never addressed.

When connected to Apple CarPlay, Spotify for CarPlay is not applying the download filter. If I go to Libarary > Downloads I go into a podcast like StarTalk, I see all the episodes. This very very frustrating!! I cant select the download podcast, I have scroll through episodes I dont want just to look for the Downloaded tag. Whats the point of a download folder/filter if its not doing what your advertising.

Furthermore, If I'm just on my mobile device and go into Downloads, I should ONLY SEE WHAT IS DOWNLOADED. What I see is, a Episodes playlist/folder and it shows a bunch of different podcast mixed in and they are not even tagged as download, but if I go into the a specific podcast title I see whats downloaded. It makes no sense what so ever.

Example

Your Episodes shows 18 items

Podcast Title A shows 2 items

Podcast Title B shows 1 item

Podcast Title C shows 4 items

Why is Your Episodes showing 18 while I only have 7 items actually downloaded?

It gets even worse if I go into Your Episodes it shows 10 items and not 18 on the previous screen.

This inconsistency usually stems from Spotify's "Your Episodes" showing a mix of saved/bookmarked items alongside actual downloads, combined with a persistent CarPlay sync bug that fails to hide cloud-based content. It’s a frustrating UX flaw where the app prioritizes metadata over local storage filters, often requiring a manual cache clear or "Offline Mode" toggle to force the correct view.
