Issues with Spotify app in iOS 11

Since updating to iOS 11, I’ve had multiple problems with the Spotify app while it runs in the background.

 

1.) no control widget on the lock screen while music plays

 

2.) unable to skip/pause/play song in control center. Only works for the Apple Music app.

 

3.) unable to change volume using buttons on the device while it’s locked.

 

4.) unable to use the earbud controls while device is locked.

 

not sure if the latter two are problems with other music apps, but I’m just seeing if anybody has any fixes. Thanks.

Restarting the phone only helps temporarily. So does reinstall the app. I spoke with Spotify support and they told me that they are aware of the issue and are actively working on a fix. So, all we can do is wait for them to release the fix.
