I have downloaded some local files in the past and play it on my iphone, and everything was working perfectly, but after the latest update for spotify, all of my local files music will not play, and not even able to be re-downloaded (it just uninstall itself), it just simply grey out and playlist automatically skips the music. I am having Premium account, latest version for ios system, everything was working perfectly but just after this update it screws me up, can't even add new songs either! Please fix this bug, having premium now basically being without premium
Hey there @anson_to19!
Thanks for reaching out to us about this. Apologies for the delayed response, we just came across this thread.
First, we'll need to know if everything looks okay with your local files on your desktop - are you able to see them and play them as usual?
We'd recommend taking a look at this page to see what you can try to re-sync the tracks.
Then we'd recommend logging out from your phone > restarting it > logging back in.
Lastly, you can go to Settings on your mobile app > Local Files and switch on Enable sync from desktop. You need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows and that should allow the files to sync.
We'll be on the lookout for your reply! Let us know if you have any questions.
Hi @Elena!
I have tried everything by logging in again and even reinstalling the app, all my local files music doesnt play, no matter the newly added one or the old ones. Even on my pc, the old ones cannot be played, and the newly added one could only play occasionally, not every-time when I wanted to. The tracks simply dont sync and cannot be re synced, I have no idea why but my premium seems to be paid for nothing now
Thanks for getting back to is @anson_to19!
There are a few other things that we can check to make sure we've covered all basic steps.
First, you'll need to make sure that the files can be played on your PC, so that you'd be able to successfully sync them to mobile.
You can begin by performing a clean reinstall of the app (instead of a regular one) on both your phone and computer. If you have a Windows 10 OS on your computer, we'd recommend that you download the app from the Microsoft store.
Then, it will be a good idea to remove all the local files you've uploaded on the app and try syncing them again. It might be good to create new folders with the files and connect those.
If everything looks okay on desktop you should be able to add the local songs to playlists and download them to your phone as well. Make sure that you've switched on Enable sync from desktop and that your firewall doesn't block Spotify.
Keep us in the loop here. We'll be here if you need us.
Hello, sorry for late reply, but it just simply doesnt work in anyways after one month of trying, nothing works, everything you have listed, I have tried all of them
Hi again @anson_to19,
Thanks for going through this troubleshooting process with us.
Could you try to create a new account with another email address, log in with that one and try uploading some local files from your Desktop.
Let us know how it goes 🙂
