My Question or Issue

When trying to use the mix feature on my phnoe, I receive a popup that says "Something Went Wrong". Upon trying to reload, it buffers and does not work. When the feature was rolled out onto my phone, I was able to mix two songs together on the first day, but none since. I've tried on numerous wifi networks, on data, cleared cache, and I have reinstalled the app to no avail.

Hey there @apr053,

Thanks for posting in the Community and welcome.

Kudos for the troubleshooting you’ve done so far! Just to confirm, is the Shuffle/Smart Shuffle feature on? If yes, try disabling it to see if issues persist.

Additionally, do you use any cache-clearing or task-killing apps? If yes, try setting Spotify as an exception. Take into account that those apps can affect the performance of the app.

We’d also like to check:

  • The exact Spotify version you’re running.
  • Does this only happen over a specific playlist?
  • Does this happen on a different mobile device? You can ask for the mobile device of a relative or a friend to open your account and check.

Keep us in the loop!

Hello,

I have smart shuffle disabled, and do not have any cache clearing apps. The version of Spotify that I am using is 9.0.86.1354. This happens over multiple playlists, and also on my iPad as well.

Hey @apr053,

Thank you for letting us know.

As we couldn't reproduce this issue from our end, let's try some further troubleshooting to see if this issue is account- or device-related in order to hopefully get to the bottom of it 🙂

If possible for you, have someone else log in to one of your devices and check if the issue would appear on the different account. In case it does persist, it could be related to your devices and their settings and, if that's the case, see if performing a complete clean reinstall of the Spotify apps would make them behave differently. You mentioned you've tried a reinstall already, but it's worth seeing if going through all the steps listed in the article would make a difference.

If the issues remain, see if toggling the 'Local Files' and 'Show unplayable songs' settings off & on for a refresh would fix things up and, in case it doesn't - let us know what your devices are, as well as their OS versions.

Much appreciated! We'll be on the lookout for your reply.
