My Question or Issue
Music keeps lowering from full volume to very quiet when opening my phone. But volume says it is full. I have tried switching off equaliser, resetting, uninstalling and reinstalling and it is still doing it. Any advice appreciated thanks

Hey @Af210711,
Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!
Just wanted to double-check first if you've you tested out @Maria's suggestions mentioned earlier in the thread? If not, give them a try, since they seem to do the trick and have resolved the issue for quite a lot of users.
We'll be on the lookout for your response.
Hello, I tried all of these, but the issue persists. I have an iPhone 12 mini (iOS 18.11) and am using Spotify 9.0.2. This issue has been driving me crazy for years. Please find a fix to this!
Hey @nayamericano,
Thank you for joining the conversation.
We appreciate the troubleshooting you've tried so far and the info you sent. To continue investigating this behavior, would you mind checking on a different device (using your own account) to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can borrow one from a friend or family member to test it out.
Also, it would be great if you could have someone log in with their account on your device - such as a friend or a family member, to see if the issue persists. This will help us understand if it could be device-related or not.
Lastly and if possible, since we couldn't replicate the behavior on our end, could you record a short video where we can take a better look? You can attach it to your next response by using the Insert Video option in the post editor. You can also upload it to YouTube or Google Drive and share the link with us (make sure the video has the permissions for anyone to watch it).
We'll be on the lookout
Hey! I have the same issue and can’t figure it out, none of the above helped either
Hey @Hollyhawks,
Thanks for letting us know!
Could you send us your device's make, model and its OS version, as well as your Spotify app version?
A video recording of the issue as @OscarDC has suggested would also be of help 🙂
Much appreciated!
This isn’t a Spotify issue. It’s an iPhone issue. There is one comment in this thread about turning off “attention aware features” in iPhone settings>Face ID & passcode
This has worked my iPhone 12 mini
My volume would dim when tapping the screen to wake up my phone when it was playing music from a locked screen
None of these things have worked for me. I’m on an iPhone 12 mini 256gb, iOS 18.5, Spotify version 9.0.50.511. I’ve turned on and off all iPhone and Spotify settings noted, though not every combination possible of all of them (I’d have to make dozens if not hundreds of attempts). Issue persists with delete and reinstall of app as well as phone restart. Only happening when screen goes off. Also only happening on speaker, not connected to headphones. Battery is at 32% right now but was closer to 50% when I began troubleshooting earlier today. When I just plugged the phone in to charge it did not decrease the sound when I shut the screen. When I unplugged it , the sound went down. So it def appears to be related to battery.
Hey @Staratmidnight,
Thanks for reaching out.
Can you make sure that Background App Refresh is enabled for the Spotify app? (Settings > General > Background App Refresh)
Also, what happens if you disable Low Power Mode in Settings > Battery?
Keep us posted.
