My Question or Issue
Hi, I've been trying to transfer my local files from my computer to my iPhone to no avail. They both recognize each other as devices ready to sync but when I download the playlist on my laptop and my phone, the songs still do not show up on my phone. It still only tells me that I have to set the playlist for Offline Sync but there is no button to do so. I would really appreciate any help! Thanks!
Thanks for reaching out about this in the Community!
We suggest that you follow these steps to be add local files to your iPhone:
2. Add the files to a new playlist.
3. Log in on your mobile or tablet using the same Wi-Fi as your desktop.
4. Go to Settings > Local Files and switch on Local audio files.
Note: You need to allow Spotify to find devices in the prompt that shows.
5. Download the playlist with your local files.
If that doesn't work, make sure:
Note: Some of your files may be protected in restricted formats. Install QuickTime on your computer to allow most of these tracks to be played on Spotify.
The iTunes lossless format (M4A) isn't supported.
If your file isn’t supported, we do our best to match it with songs from the Spotify catalog. The version we match with might differ from the original.
If you still experience issues after following the steps above we suggest that you create a new topic on the help board so that we can continue to assist you.
Hope this info helps. Don't hesitate to reach out again if you need more help 🙂
Hi I know this is an old post but I'm still struggling with this issue even after following all the steps. I can find the songs on my phone but am not able to play them as they are greyed out.
I am dealing with the same problem. I've done all the steps listed above but cannot get the songs to play on my iPhone.
Dealing with the exact same problem, please let me know if you find out how to sort it.

I'm using an iPhone 12, I first noticed the problem in IOS 15.6.1 but I updated my phone to IOS 16 yesterday and the problem still persists. My Spotify version is 126.96.36.1998
Thanks for confirming.
Some changes to how local files are handled were recently introduced, Currently, it's no longer possible to wirelessly sync local files from your PC to your phone. Instead, the files have to be manually imported on the phone in order to be played by Spotify.
You can upload the files to your device by following the steps in this article.
