When I try to load a spotify ap for the iPod or iPad it says it cannot load the URL. Why?

That's strange, could you provide some more details about where you're seeing this and what causes it? A screenshot would be useful if possible.

I think you may be attempting to install the desktop app.

The Spotify app for iOS is installed via the App Store.
