Smart shuffle turning itself on for Liked Songs (IOS)

Solved!

Smart shuffle turning itself on for Liked Songs (IOS)

When I open Liked Songs, Smart Shuffle is automatically turned on. 1) When I turn it off, then swipe out of my Liked Songs and go back into it, Smart Shuffle is turned on again. 2) When I log out and log back in again, Smart Shuffle is off every time I go into Liked Songs. However, when I swipe out of the app and go back into it and go to Liked Songs, the same problem in 1 occurs. 3) When I turn Smart Shuffle off, then turn on Airplane Mode so that my songs are all downloaded in Liked Songs, Smart Shuffle will turn itself on again when I go out of that playlist. 4) The only way to access the songs downloaded when on Airplane mode is to search for them individually. Also, if possible, I would like an option to permanently turn it off.

Easily the worst decision this app has made. Make it a setting. I understand if some people want auto shuffle on their likes, but it's literally the only playlist I never want shuffled. Let me turn it off instead of being jarred every time it TURNS ITSELF BACK ON.

This issue appears to be present again, I have 8.9.50.491 and every time I swipe in and back into the playlist smart shuffle is enabled again.

I like how I search this exact tissue, find this thread, and it says there's A solution. And then the solution is the utter LACK of solution. And over a year later at that.

It's been over a year since you posted this and Smart Shuffle still keeps turning itself on. Does your company have no plans on fixing this issue?

This issue has started happening for me just today, and I'm on android. Smart shuffle isn't even turned on and it's doing it.

This issue happening for me too, very annoying. Just make it a feature to opt in/out of. Long time this issue has been apparent for. Get your sh!t straight, Spotify techs, surely not a hard fix.

Jesus, I am a developer and this is a ONE HOUR development fix, not including testing.  Definitely takes less than a month to get out to the public, yet it's been a year.  Who the **bleep** signed off on THIS feature.  Amazon music, I think it's time I moved over to you.

Still an issue!! Come on Spotify!!! We PAY for this!! WE PAY! Now listen to what we want. We want to be able to disable smart shuffle (stupid name actually since it seems stupid) for good! And be able to shuffle own own playlists withour smart shuffle activates by itself!

It's really not that difficult...

over 2 years, still no fix?

It’s still hapoening though.

Spotify has listened to user feedback and you can now disable Smart Shuffle from the mobile app settings, as mentioned in this now implemented idea. This setting will also be added to the desktop app in a future update.

Steps to disable Smart Shuffle in the mobile app:

1: Tap on your profile picture at the top left corner

2: Tap on Settings and privacy

3: Tap on Playback

4: Switch Include Smart Shuffle in play modes off

Note: This is for Premium users only and right now it's only available in the mobile app, but in a future update, there will be a setting to disable Smart Shuffle in the desktop app as well.

This is no longer an answer - nearly three years later this issue is popping up again. Please fix. If I wanted to use "Smart Shuffle," I would.
