My Question or Issue

Reposting this as I do at least once a year. My Spotify app frequently breaks audio playback functionality on my phone, meaning that Spotify stops playing audio, and every other audio-playing app on my phone can't play audio either. The only way around this is to restart my phone. Usually this means that audio playback works again, but even still sometimes Spotify doesn't work again until I connect to wifi. Re-installing the app hasn't fixed the problem. I've posted about this several times in the past and never found a solution. I would much rather have functional playback than AI slop on my home screen. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there @Luxembourg,

Thanks for posting in the Community!

It seems like this has been quite persistent looking at your posts and we appreciate your efforts in trying to solve this. We see that you tried some troubleshooting in the previous posts, but to make sure we cover all bases, it's worth try a few additional troubleshooting steps. This could also help us narrow down the cause. Feel free to give the following a try, if you haven't already:

  • Log in to another Spotify account on your device. For example, you can ask a friend or family member to log in to their own account on your device to see if the issue persists.
  • Sign in to your account on a different mobile device.
  • Change the current Background App Refresh setting. To do this, go the device's Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
  • Check that you have enough data allowance in your device’s settings (if it happens when not connected WiFi). Your data provider can help with this.

Let us know how you get on!
