Spotify doesn’t load past the logo screen on iPad

We've received reports that iPad users are unable to get past the Spotify logo when launching the app.

Hi everyone,

The original issue where the app didn't load past the logo screen on iPads should be fixed in version 9.1.70 and above, so make sure to update manually. If you don't see the update on your end yet, rest assured it's coming your way soon.

If you're still having trouble or you need assistance with anything else, you can look for an existing thread in our Help boards or start your own here.

Cheers 🤘

Found a roundabout solution from Reddit - a user said to resize the Spotify window to the smallest possible size then open a second app (doesn’t matter which, I opened safari) resize it ( doesn’t matter the size) and Spotify starts to work. It worked for me, and others in the thread. Don’t ask me how and why…

Update.
Problem is actually not solved.

After a couple of day the ipad app started again not loading the home screen.

I just rebooted the device and it seemed to work fine.

Another couple of days and again it didnt start the same exact way it originally did.

Rebooting didnt solve it this time and thus i had to uninstall, reboot, reinstall and now it works.
I’m not a tech but it seems quite clear that it is a problem with cache management on the app side, which is unsolved at its roots, something which started to happen with some of the most recent app updates.
Obviously I cant keep on uninstalling and reinstalling the app once a week can I?

Please fix it.Ty

My Question or Issue

I click on the app the screen opens the app and shows the logo but it never opens truly I only see the logo, I tried to restart the ipad and spotify and free up space on my ipad but nothing seems to work. I use wifi and it seems to be working. I don’t understand what’s wrong

Hey @Sofi_astro,

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Community!

Kudos for the troubleshooting you've already done. You can find some additional steps here that may help resolve the issue or at least narrow down what’s causing it.

Give them a try and let us know how it goes, we’ll be happy to take a closer look if needed.

Hi there, I’m not sure if I’m having the exact same issues but I am having trouble with Spotify on my ipad. It’s a mini 6th gen with iOS 26.0.1, and as of during the day yesterday, the app worked just fine but in the middle of my song, it turned off. When I tried to reopen the app, I find that I can’t get past the Spotify logo at all. If I wait long enough, I think it does send me back to my homescreen. I’ve tried reinstalling multiple times and restarting my ipad, but the app continues to be stuck there. I’m not sure what to do.

Hi there, @swxuan

Thanks for reaching out and welcome to the Spotify Community!

Just to confirm, does the Web player work as normal on your iPad's browser? Try using your account there on an incognito window of your browser and let us know if the issue persists.

Also, make sure the iPad Low Data Mode is off and Spotify has all the permissions needed (including the permission to work in the background).

If that doesn't do the trick you can reset your network settings to see if it makes a change.

Hope this helps! Let us know how it goes!

Hi Paula!

I can’t use the web browser since the link directs me straight into the app (which doesn’t load past the Spotify logo) and the web version says the device is not supported and tells me to download the app instead.

The Spotify app had all the permissions but the issue still persisted. I also tried different networks to no avail. My iPhone’s Spotify still works though, it’s only my iPad for some reason.

An advisor told me to offload the app, then delete it, followed by shutting down my iPad then turning it back on and reinstalling and it worked for like a minute where I got past the logo and onto the log in page but when I filled in my email and password the app was then stuck loading and now I’m back to square one with the loading screen.

What can I do now?

I am having the same issues, is this an IOS issue?

swxuan

I hope it isn’t but it’d be terrible if it was. The new iOS is at least 5 gbs+, and Spotify not working on older iOS (not even old btw) would be crazy.

Hey folks,

In order to take a closer look at this, could you share the following, if you haven't already:

  • The exact version of Spotify you're running;
  • Your iOS version;
  • Timestamp when the issue occurred (including time zone). Example: June 29, 2026. 11:42 AM (GMT+1)
  • If you let the app run for a couple of minutes, does it eventually load, does it display an error message or is it still stuck on the Spotify logo?
  • A screen recording which captures the described behavior in action. In case you’re unable to attach the file here in your reply, you can instead upload it to Google Drive (just make sure it's available to anyone with the link) or YouTube as an unlisted video.

We'll be on the lookout for your replies.

My Spotify is 9.1.60. My iOS version is 26.0.1. This happened across few days now, but my current timestamp is June 29, 2026, 8:57 A.M (GMT-5). It’s a bit inconsistent as to what happens because sometimes it sends me back to my homescreen in a second or after a while, but most often it’s just stuck on the Spotify logo screen.

I did find something new. I’m not sure if it’s wholly accurate but when I close the app and play a song from the widget, it does load up Spotify after like 20s and I can then access past the Spotify logo screen.
