Spotify error-01 with a car stereo (Alpine CDE-111RM)

Hello!

My Iphone 4S IOS5.0.1 works fine with my car stereo, except spotify doesn`t.

My ipod feature, navigation system and other programs works fine with my car stereo. And when I start the spotify premium app, it plays a track like 0,5 second and after that the connection crashes. Car stereo tries to search the connection and after that it gives (ERROR-01) message. The error message is only removed if I reboot the Iphone...

I am closing the premium account if theres no fix for this. I hope there is...

There are hundreds of users that have the same problem with spotify and car stereo (atleast Pioneer and Alpine), I`ve read them from other forums. There has to be something wrong with the spotify because other programs work.

Any help and suggestions ? or shall I put my account to hold ?

I have the same problem!! Please search the solution!! This is the reason of my premium account, if you don't solve this problem, I don't pay.

I join the club, if you do not solve this I will switch to deezer because their player works with my car stereo. I am happy with spotify and it is an annoying job to create all new playlist but since this car issue is a really big deal for me I do not see any other solution. Tunein Radio also works on my iphone so this is clearly related to spotify and something they can fix if they want to....

Just found this (http://spotizr.com/) so no need of creating new playlist for deezer, you can use this to transform any spotify playlist to deezer.

And did I tell you deezer works with the car stereo?

Hi Lucy,

We've tried this before (see a few pages back) but it doesn't work as it knows its been used against another apple id/iPhone on iTunes an errors 😞

Can defo recommend Deezer, and now with Spotizr that will turn any spotify playlists to Deezer ones it makes life much easier.

Deezer.com on the web but there is an app that works in the same way as spotify, create playlists and switch offline on and then it will sync and you can play them on your phone when no 3G or wireless.

http://spotizr.com/ you just paste the URL of the playlist in spotify and then click import (which will import to Deezer) or view to see the playlist and hey presto 🙂

Er,  One last thing (sorry to be an idiot!) but how do I find the URL for my playlists?

Also, do I need to buy "Premium" on Deezer too?

Hi,

Yes, you will need to get the premium version if you want to play your tracks on your phone in the car but the price is the same as Spotify. 

As for URL's for your playlists, open spotify, right click on one of your playlists in the left hand bar and select either 'Copy HTTP Link' or 'Copy Spotify URL'

I'm hoppin over to Deezer as soon as it's available in the US. They just received large financial backing so hopefully sooner than later!

We signed on to spotify the first day it launches in the states. But I need it in my car more than anywhere else and spotify seems to treat people that use Alpine's connection as some kind of hackers who are using the software in an unauthorized way. So once I get Deezer ill be advising everyone to switch.

Shame to use Spotify though, as it's the one my friends use to post their playlists, so I hope Spotify sort it out eventually.

I contacted Spotify support for this and all they said was that they dont support alpine cd decks.

I know, its pretty rediculous. I have had no trouble when using the spotify radio, but I can use that for free. As many people have said on here, we are paying customers...I would expect them to figure out some sort of solution.

Hey there, i got the complete same problem as you guys.

Just got my Iphone 4 and i installed the Spotify app. Only thing i get is ERROR-01 on it.

So i tried my very old Ipod thats jailbroken and nothing there is updated at all, so i synced all the songs and everything and its working like a charm. Looks like i gotta use my ancient Ipod again 😛

I have the same problem, always get the error-01, its ridiculous that spotify hasn't done anything about this, I pay 10 pounds a month and all I want it for is to be able to play music in my car!!

hello all i've found that the tunigo app works great on my alpine stereo !!! and it read all my playlist without the ERROR-01 !!!

the only thing is that the app isn't as sleek as the spotify one...
