Solved! Go to Solution.
Yup its local files only I'm afraid!
Does a clean reinstallation of the client help at all?
Does it only crash when you try to make a change during syncing? If so, try leaving it to finish syncing, it will stop once it has copied all of your local files or the iPod is full. Then you should be able to go back and remove/change the content on it.

Hey! Welcome to the community 🙂
That is strange, can you try running the client as administrator if you are on Windows? (Right Click on Desktop icon > Run as Administrator)
What generation of iPod shuffle is it?
Also be aware, you can only sync local files to an iPod nano, shuffle or classic, not any content from the Spotify catalogue or your offline playlists. There is more information about that limitation here.

I am so sick of Spotify shutting down and I am so so sick of not being able to communicate with anyone that can help me. Spotify shuts down on my computer and it shuts down on my phone. I'm lucky if it get get through one track but three in a row is unheard of. I can't see anything in any of the answers that helps me and I think the whole "support" thing is non-existent. If we can't get this resolved I will cancel my subscription this week for the second time. (I had hoped things had improved).
Hi Tiggy - Sorry to hear you're having some trouble.
Could you please confirm which iOS and Spotify app version you're using? Have you already given a clean reinstallation a try?
My spotify crashes when i try to sync my playlist manually, i have tried to reinstall it and Itunes is not running..please help
Hi Christnation! Sorry to hear you're having trouble. Mind answering a couple questions so we can narrow this down?
1. What device/ OS are you using?
2. Which Spotify app version is installed?
3. Are you trying to sync any local files at all?
Thanks!
ooh, i forgot that, it is an ipod nano, there is no app system in that ipod, yeah it is the songs i have put in from my desktop so it must be local files
Ah ok. Which Spotify desktop app is currently installed? Have you tried a clean reinstallation at all?
I am using the latest version of it and yes i have tried a clean reinstallation, twice actually and it was not working at all
Hi,
I am having the exact same problem. I am using an iPod Classic 80gb 6th generation, and version 0.9.0.133.gd18ed589 of Spotify.
I have tried a clean installation.
My iPod is experiencing hard drive failure but in the past if I was able to select playlists and only sync a few then the iPod would sync successfully. As soon as Local Files is removed from the sync list the program shuts down.
Thanks for any help you can give.
Thanks, will try that 🙂
It did not work, even tried to sync all the music and then take the ones i didn't want but it still crashes...
Hey Chrisnation (and iToast) - It'd also be a big help if you could confirm your desktop app version for us. That can be found under 'About Spotify'.
