Spotify skipping repeatedly

My Question or Issue

Today I went to start listening to my music on spotify and I’m finding it skips repeatedly by ten seconds. This happens even when the music is paused. I have tried signing out of everywhere, I have restarted my device, I have disconnected and reconnected my headphones, I have tried reinstalling the app and making sure it is up to date, I have checked whether my headphones are accidentally skipping. None of these have been the solution. Right now spotify is completely unusuable for me.

Another device on your account could be controlling your session remotely. Go to your Spotify app → Devices → check if anything unexpected is showing as active. Even a Smart TV, game console, or an old phone that still has Spotify installed could be sending commands. 

Also, you can try explicitly tapping the speaker icon and selecting This device to claim local control.

Check if the Crossfade and Automix settings are toggled on (Settings > Playback), and if they are, try turning them off to see if it makes a difference.
