Spotify wont find sonos amp 2, but sonos app can stream Spotify

Spotify wont find sonos amp 2, but sonos app can stream Spotify

-Premium subscription in Canada.

My Spotify app will not find my Sonos amp gen 2 to stream. It was working perfectly fine just a few days ago. I always use the Spotify app because the sonos app running Spotify is not as functional and user friendly.
I have checked my Spotify settings and my iPhone settings. I have deleted and reinstalled and updated Spotify and Sonos apps on my phone. I have shut off and turned on my iPhone, my Sonos amp, my router multiple times to no avail.

I believe I have done all of the possible and recommended to reconnect the sonos amp gen 2 . I also cannot find listed on the Spotify connect website my device, so I am wondering if Spotify is no longer supporting the Sonos amp generation two anymore. That seems odd because it’s not a particularly old device.

I am the only one with access to my account so multiple login is not a potential issue.

Another thing that’s odd that I can’t do is find under my iPhone settings when I go in to the Spotify app settings, it doesn’t show “local network” so I cant toggle it off or on because it’s simply not there… I can find “show local devices only” when I am in the Spotify app in the apps settings.

Help please! I am getting so incredibly frustrated!

Hey there @AnnieIsme,

Thanks for reaching out on the Community!

Just to make sure we cover all bases, could you try relinking your Spotify account to Sonos to see if it makes any difference? Just follow the steps under Remove Spotify from Sonos on this page to unlink the account. You can then re-add it by checking Add Spotify to Sonos.

If that doesn't do the trick, can you let us know the model and the operating system version of your iPhone? Also, are you able to see your Sonos on any other devices that you use Spotify on?

Keep us posted!

No, I have not figured out what is happening.

I removed both apps and reconfigured my networks and reinstalled the apps and it all seemed to work for a few days. However that was 1 week ago and now again, I am having the exact same problem.  Spotify shows on Sonos, but Spotify  doesn’t show Sonos device. No one has access to my router or Ethernet wiring or Sonos device or Spotify account. I am stumped.

I have removed my networks and am trying to re-add my main one to my Sonos amp.

I have an 13maxpro IPhone and I dont use any other devices to stream spotify but when I do look at them they as well do not show my Sonos amp device for streaming.

Hey @AnnieIsme,

Thank you for keeping in contact and for the shared info.

Since some routers may have 2 different channels for the same network (2.4 Ghz or 5.0 Ghz) to continue investigating this case, could you check if both devices are connected to the same exact channel?

Also would you mind checking with a different network connection to see if it makes any difference? If you don't have another one available, you can use your mobile data to test it.

Lastly,  include in your next response the OS version of your device, along with the Spotify version you're currently running to continue investigating the case.

We'll be on the lookout.
