Using Spotify with Ford SYNC Applink doesn't work

Using Spotify with Ford SYNC Applink doesn't work

Hi,

A few weeks ago I bought a new Ford Fiest with Ford SYNC Applink. I have a Spotify premium account and I would like to use Spotify in my Ford Fiesta. However, it's not yet clear to me how I can use Spotify with SYNC Applink. How can I set this up?

I am able to listen to Spotify with bluetooth audio or, when I connect my iPhone cable to the USB, through USB. However, I would like to use it with SYNC Applink to use voicecommands. How do I do this?

According to the manual I have to say "Mobile applications", however, SYNC does not recognize this voice command. Any ideas?

Many thanks in advance!

David

Hello @David_1990, welcome to the Spotify Community!

I see a lack of reply on this as I think some of our community members don't really have this setup! But anyway, is it possible you send an email to: support@spotify.com and there will be someone over there to assist you on this case?

If an automated reply comes back to you, just reply to it again (yes, i know, ignore what it says!)

Good luck buddy, if you have anything, feel free to let us know again!

There seems to be a problem with iOS Spotify versions newer then 1.1.
I'm experiecing the same problem with my Ford Mustang SYNC AppLink and Spotify 1.4.

After reinstalling Spotify Version 1.1 on my iPhone, it's fully working again.

Any news on this?
My 2012 fiesta doesn't recognise Spotify. Applink doesn't even recognise "mobile apps"???
Help?

What was the outcome as I am having the same problem on my 2014 fiesta ST.

You need a small hardware upgrade for this, ask your car dealer about it. As far as I remember, it only worked for cars manufactured after August 2014. Earlier cars need this upgrade.

I have booked car in for a software update so hopefully that fixes it. Thanks for the rapid response.

Hi, I know this thread was from a while ago but I wondered if anyone got to the bottom of this? I've just purchased a 2014 fiesta and have 'sync applications' on my cars menu. I can connect via bluetooth but the spotify app doesn't register. I can find little information on it and its really frustrating.

The only way for Spotify to register song is by using a cable. You can however play it through Bluetooth Audio wirelessly but it does not display the song name/artist. Hope that helps.

Hi Ross, thanks for the reposnse, jusr realised this is an iphone/pod area, i'm on an android device so perhaps its not the same issue. Many thanks for the response though.
