I hate the new home feed page and AI DJ!! If you insist on breaking what most people love and are trying to attract the Tik Tok generation that is all about images, why not offer different versions of Spotify?  Have a Spotify “classic” for the music content centric customer who likes easy, simple navigation and lets the user do the navigating to places they want to go in a straight, intuitive path. You could also offer Spotify “modern” for this new visual, AI driven customer who needs more help exploring. I’m a deeply invested music enthusiast that enjoys exploring paths that I decide to go down but that are clearly connected. Spotify has down an outstanding job of marking new paths I may be interested in but I used to be able to see several options (paths) at once. Now I just see one big street sign. Yuck

the new home screen has 5-10 sec clip of the song for you to listen to that you might want to add to your playlist.

Agree. The new user interface has changed so drastically into something so unusable. It is really frustrating to be forced into using an interface that doesn’t work for me. Spotify should allow for more direct feedback when they force users into a test. For example say: “hey sorry we are forcing something onto you but bear with us for a week, give it a try and tell us what you do and don’t like. After a week you are free to switch back.” Instead of just changing it and saying “we don’t know if it will be changed back”.

I never thought I could hate a home screen, but as it turns out, I can. 

I literally go to my library or the search tab as fast as I can whenever I open Spotify because the home screen frustrates me so.

The greatest loss for me was the Recently played section. It was so easy to come back to things I wanted more of, and even make a kind of ‘for later listening’ list there

I don’t get it, why would you do this Spotify? a blank dark space would’ve been the same 😞

Many years on Spotify but first post. I'm just angry. The new UI is useless IMO. I will switch to another provider if no change is done.

like i said, I think the home screen is like 5-10 second clips of the songs that play is related to your songs you listen too and that you might add them to your playlist

I don't understand why you continue to explain obvious and miss the point.

Yeah, it plays short clips. So? How is this meant to replace the old homescreen which showed multiple albums and playlists at one glance, each split in multiple horizontal sections. Have you seen the iPad version? It's 1 single clip per giant 11" iPad screen.
You think showing a single short clip per giant screen (iPad or iPhone) helps vs. a grid of artworks?

If such a radical new discovery mode is introduced, why break the old one? It's honestly crippling and it baffles me to think that someone finds this useful.

But if they add anything else back, I might consider leaving. I am also planning to put only 6 Premium months from now on.

Not a year in case something like this happens.

Just got another update and still not reverted. I hope someone somewhere is looking at the analytics. They’ll see my usage has gone down from several hours per day to 0 since I got the update.

My Question or Issue

I had to change my account (new profile, new account, new plan) and now in my new account thew old home screen is showed.

Altough I know it's a unpopular opinion I quite liked the new home screen, and used quite a lot. Are they testing to reverse the home screen and I was victim of A/B testing, or is it a bug?

Same useless update here. I'm also on Apple Music at the moment and I'm not using Spotify.

This was literally the dumbest decision Spotify could’ve made. I’m canceling my membership bc of the updated layout. Not user friendly, difficult to navigate through - especially while driving. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it - or at least give us the option to revert back while you’re “testing” it out 🙄

This new Tik-Tok inspired design is terrible. I don't get why everyone is trying to copy the same UI. First Instagram, and now Spotify! At least Instagram rolled back to the ui people expect. I have been eagerly awaiting an update too big it back to usability... today finally with much excitement I installed the update with expectations of bringing it back to normal only to have my hopes and dreams come crashing down when I opened the app to find nothing had changed.

This UI update is profoundly bad. I've been a Spotify customer for over 6 years and I haven't seen anything that negatively impacted my experience this much. It's just unusable now. I'm going to be researching other services and I'm seriously considering cancelling my subscription.

Hi,

I had a bad surprise when I discovered my Home Screen like that. 
It’s unusable and I’m actually trying Apple Music to see how it goes and if it’s okay and Spotify continues to go that way I will leave it. 
When I talk to my friends and family, everyone agrees : we want to listen to music and not have stories like Instagram, TikTok of whatever !

Please give us the old display and stop this test !

and by the way : please give us Sparial Audio on MacOS application ! These are the two reasons I am thinking about leaving Spotify behind.
