Hi, I am having the same issue. It started last week and since then I am not enjoying my Spotify experience, to say the least. The home screen or "homepage" has changed to a "story" like mode. Not only that I cant find the woderfull suggestions that I really liked, but also the "story" mode, pushes music over the music i am listening to when I am browsing.

I have obviously been entered into some terrible test mode - How can I opted out of this mode?

March 2023 Update: My UI has changed back recently to the original UI. So my issue has been solved and I am as happy as could be 🙂

This the worst update I’ve ever seen. I don’t want a Instagram/Tik-Tok wannabe Home Screen. Bring back the old UI so I can actually scroll categories and discover new music! If this sticks I will 100% delete my account and move to another music app. Been a Spotify premium user for YEARS but they aren’t the only players in this game. Horrible update. Definitely fire whoever made this call.

Also here to agree and hope the team takes notice. Maybe they could have different home screen options that we can select? The old one was excellent and the new one is unusable. Longtime subscriber to Spotify, hope this gets addressed.

Hi Spotify team,

I have had a massive change in the IOS UI in the last couple of days.

The Home Screen now forces Podcasts and old / irrelevant Playlists on my feed. All in a weird TikTok like format.

Also the Recently Played Albums has been removed.

Is there anyway to change this back? As it’s unusable now.

Just as an update - I did find the email/contact/submission form by searching the community forums. So I reached out to Spotify with an email, and directly referenced this and the numerous other community chats and concerns over the very poor new user interface. I received a canned/automated response letting me know that they can't specify when a new version will be released and that I "should start a discussion and let us know what you think over in the community" .... yup.  So, unfortunately, whether it's due to a lack of resources or lack of concern over customer satisfaction, it does not appear that Spotify is going to meaningfully address this or its customer's concerns. It's disappointing after so many years. Meantime, I have set up Apple Music and turned off auto-renew for Spotify and cancelled as I'm not going continue to pay for a now inferior product that is coupled with poor customer service. I'll keep the free version and possibly come back (friends & family on Spotify) if Spotify fixes this and I'm not already entrenched in the *very* polished Apple Music platform by then. It's a shame, I really didn't want to contribute further to Apple's world-takeover, but at least there will be a good mix soundtrack.

My spotify mobile app (IOS) recently updated on both my phones (2.10.23) and the home screen is not usable. Instead of tiles I now have a huge video that takes up the entire screen and recommendations are pointless at this point.
I love spotify and have used it forever but this is making rethink my entire existence. I'll pay more money monthly for them to change it back. Please advise how an older version can be downloaded on iphone.

The new UI homepage for the Spotify app is terrible. It has made the app and features I use every single day unusable. We desperately need this removed, reverted, or a way to disable the single tile homepage.

Scrolling is incredibly glitchy and all the recommendations are wrong, or things I never listen to. It’s impossible to even tell what I’m looking at because the visuals are just awful pictures, random album covers, or blurry cropped video loops. Please release a fix ASAP, or I will have to find another provider for my music since the Spotify app has now become a chore to use and just isn’t worth it. 

Why “fix” something that isn’t broken? This is not Instagram.

This is legitimately the worst app UI change I’ve ever seen. Makes this app horrible to use. I’ve been on Spotify for like 8 years and i almost think it would be worth losing all of my playlists and liked songs to have a better UI over at Apple Music

Unusable. I’ve been on YT music for a few days now and am fast getting used to it. Bundle it with YT Premium so I get no ads there as well. I don’t want to leave Spotify but it seems that’s how this is going to play out. Bummer.

I’m finding Amazon Music a very easy substitute. I’ll admit I keep opening Spotify in the hope they will take me off the Beta but nothing. Worse - the “your whole iPhone screen album recommendation” on Spotify just the record I was last listening to. I’m giving them 72 hours until I turn my account off (yes - I hate this so much I’m volunteering to have an awkward conversation about it with my **bleep**-year-old mom, who’s on my family plan and who I’ll have to explain

Amazon Music to).
