iOS 7.0.4 Spotify won't open

iOS 7.0.4 Spotify won't open

Since I installed the latest update, Spotify won't load. Under the icon it says "waiting". I've tried restarting the iphone5 to no avail. I've also reset the settings of the phone.I can't uninstall the app because it won't let me: the little x that appears by the app doesn't appear.
Gear: iphone5, iOS 7.0.4, Spotify 0.9.2

What internet connection are you using? WiFi or mobile data? Are you using a VPN on either?

Both Wifi and mobile. Not VPN. Thanks

It's weird you can't uninstall the application. Would it be possible to get a screenshot of the "x" being missing?

No. It says that it's updated. The button says open.

Very strange, can you try a full reboot if you haven't already done so by holding the home and lock buttons togehter for 10 seconds until the apple logo appears on screen and then try again?

Unfortunately that didn't work either.

Having a look over on Apple it appears this is a pretty common problem (with lots of people posting all sorts of solutions):

Go into iOS Settings > General-Language & Region > Make sure it says US > If it's already on this, move it to a different language and then change it back to the correct language .
 
If this does not work, try doing a clean reinstall of the app with the Language change.
