My Question or Issue
when I am playing a playlist the queue suddenly keeps starting from the beginning. I don’t have shuffle on and I am on Wi-Fi and casting to my tv using a chromecast.
This is happening to me as well, it'll play a few songs and then restart from the beginning
For metthe issue only seems to occur when using a speaker (Amazon Alexa and Google Home) when playing from my phone it's fine.
I'm having the same issue and it's really annoying. After one or two songs the playlist just starts over from the beginning. I tried a clean re-install and that seemed to work, but after a day or so it started happening again. I'm on android, using version 8.7.92.521 of the app.
I love Spotify, but if this isn't fixed soon I might have to consider switching to a different app unfortunately.
happens to me too on my google speaker!!
Hi @deepakvenkat, thanks for writing.
First of all, have you checked if your queue? Try clearing it and see if it helps.
If not, can you tell me if it happens to all playlists or just some? What about albums?
Does it happen with one device only or more than one?
Same issue. My queue gets automatically adjusted back to the first song on the playlist or whatever song I started with. It just started happening two days ago and happens with all playlists and radio stations that I have tried. I have a screen recording attached but oddly enough you don’t accept .mov files despite this being a iOS support community.
Hi everyone,
In order to investigate what might be causing this issue, please provide the following information if you haven't already:

My Question or Issue
When playing playlists the the play order goes back to the first song. It happens after each song no matter if I skip forward to another song or select one in the list, when that song is done play order restart from the first song in the playlist.
I guess you can understand that this makes Spotify basically unusable and with the debacle recently of forcing autoplay always on for Spotify Connect devices you are steadily loosing credibility as a viable option for music.
Please fix this and ensure a premium listening experience for those of us who still try to use Spotify for music.
Hi @mattpdejong and @deepakvenkat,
Can you please tell me what Spotify app version you're running?
iPhone SE2 running IOS 16.2 and it appears to only happen on a smart speaker mine is an echo dot
spotify version.7.92.521
It happens when connected to the speaker directly from Spotify ( assuming that’s a Bluetooth connection )
happens with every playlist but at different times during the play list
i have noticed that the playlist appears to restart if I unlock the phone and use another app at which point the volume control dialogue box comes up for the echo dot
8.7.94.551
I am running 8.7.92.521. I have only seen it on my iPhone so far. I have seen it on multiple playlists both the ones created by me and the ones that are generated by spotify.
Just to add some additional detail, the queue will typically play 2-4 songs from the playlist (both created by me and made by Spotify) but then will automatically jump back to the first song and then cycle the 2-4 songs over and over.
They are apparently having this issue on the Android side of things too. Here are 5 pages of people experiencing it:

Hey @mattpdejong and @deepakvenkat, thank you for the replies.
Could you please attach the video recording in mp4 format, or upload it to YouTube or Google drive and make it public, so we can visualize it?
Also, what's the model of the affected device? (@deepakvenkat yours is an iPhone 12, right?)
This is happening to me on my iPad Air iPadOS 15.4.1. Spotify premium. App version 8.7.94.551. Playing on my Alexa EchoShow 5. A few songs will play in my 4 hour playlist and then start over. I’ll then play again where it had left off, play that one song, and instead of continuing down the list of songs, starts over at the beginning.
This is happening to me too since a few days on iPhone 12, iOS is 16.1.1, latest Spotify version. After about 4 tunes the playlists starts over again. Does not happen on albums, but on playlists generated by Spotify and others.
I am having the same issue whenever I connect to a bluetooth speaker -- it plays the first two songs then restarts the playlist, even if I skip songs it goes back to the first two again
I am having the same issue whenever I connect to a bluetooth speaker from IOS-- it plays the first two songs then restarts the playlist, even if I choose a random song, once done it goes back to the first two again.

Hey @mattpdejong @deepakvenkat @HelenaMariana @Christinolini
Could you please let me know if you only experience this while listening to your content on an external device?
Also, those who haven't sent their exact make/model, operating system and Spotify version of their device, please can you do so?
Additionally, it would be great to know what troubleshooting steps you've already tried and when you started experiencing this.
Thank you for your collaboration 😊
