My Question or Issue
when I am playing a playlist the queue suddenly keeps starting from the beginning. I don’t have shuffle on and I am on Wi-Fi and casting to my tv using a chromecast.
Hey there folks,
Our tech folks have worked their magic backstage and this issue should now be fixed 🙂
In order to have the fix pushed on your device, we'd need you to restart the app a few times.
As a workaround we can also suggest that you start the playback on the phone then pick a device to play on Connect. Once it plays on the speaker you close the app on the phone - the playlist will continue to play on the speaker.
We're always working on improving your experience. Make sure to that you keep the app up to date with the latest version, so that you don't miss out on any fixes.
Cheers!
Have also had it happen on shuffle sometimes but in that case it goes back to the first song I played instead of the first in the playlist, usually after playing a couple songs.
Hi,
Same issue for me with Spotify Connect on Bose soundtouch.
I launch a playlist, the first track is played, the second track is played and impossible to have the third track, the first track is played a new time...
I have not the problem on my iphone or ipad. It is only present with Spotify Connect with my Bose Soundtouch.
I’m also facing the same issues described in here right now. It happens only while being connected through Spotify Connect to my Sonos speakers (Beam / One SL).
After some time the playlist starts from the beginning. The playlist will start directly from the beginning after I’m changing the playlist like adding or removing songs. It’s happening to all Playlists (my own and public ones).
This issue is currently only there on my iPhone running iOS 16.2 and Spotify 8.7.94.551. On an android device this issue is not appearing.
The same for me.
I checked with an Android device : no problem !
My iPhone running iOS 16.2 and Spotify 8.7.94.551.

My Question or Issue:
I've been having this issue for a couple months now. If I play a playlist, unshuffled, from the top, after about 3 songs the playlist will loop back to the top and replay from the beginning of the playlist, all on it's own. If I then skip through the songs I've already played in that playlist to the song it should've continued on from, it will play that song and then loop back and start from the top again. This is happening on desktop and mobile. I've updated both apps, clean re-installed both apps, and restarted the actual devices to no avail. Is anyone else having this problem? What is going on? It's getting to a point where I can's listen to playlists in general because of it.
*NOTE: It does not do this when listening to an album.
Hello? Alex the moderator: Is this still being fixed? Please update us since your last post in December.
Same issue for me.
Pixel 6 phone. Android 13.
App version. 8.7.92.521
Using on Bluetooth.
Like everyone else said, plays one song from original place and restarts the playlist.
Same here. Even when I shuffle a playlist it will repeat the same 5 or so songs even though the queue still lists all songs
Same for me. Two songs then restarts. I’ve reinstalled, logged in and out, etc. happens again anyways.
happens when connected to echo or Sonos. iPhone 14 pro. iOS 16.0. Spotify version 8.7.94.551. All my playlists
I have the same issue.
iPhone 13 Pro
App Version: 8.7.94.551
iOS: 16.1
Streaming to external Speakers using Chromecast.
Complete reinstall didn't help.
Problem startet on 24th of December. Whenever I play a playlist it starts over from the beginning. Sometimes after one song, sometimes after a few songs. I've done a screen video, because you can see what happens in the queue: Spotify re-adds the songs (either the ones I've removed or from the beginning of the playlist) to the queue after some seconds automatically after I removed the songs from the queue - look at second 28 of the video.
When I choose a song from the middle of the playlist, the queue shows all the next songs at first like its supposed to.
But after a wheile (sometimes 2 minutes, sometimes 30 seconds) the queue changes and it starts at the top of the current playlist.
I did a clean reinstall and it went well for maybe 5 songs and then the bug came back.
Happens both on a playlist with 3,5 hours of music and one with over 82 hours of music.
Shuffle, repeat, autoplay and automix are all turned off.
Casting music through a Google home mini.
Android version 13
App version 8.7.92.521
Edit: added screen recording to post directly.

Thanks for the update, Lyubka. Just to be clear when you say “restart the app” does that mean
Also intrigued by “a few times” …
Hi good news !
Thanks @Lyubka !
@Spike57, from my side I didn't take any action (no restart, no reinstall) and the problem has disappeared
For information, from this morning there is a new update to the Spotify app on the app store (For Iphone/Ipad)
During playback of albums, with no shuffle or loop settings enabled, the up next queue will correctly display that the next track to be played is the next song in the album. However after a while, sometimes Spotify spontaneously decides that the next song should be the first song in the album and the queue resets to the beginning of the album. I have screen-recorded this behaviour, where it happens after adding a song to a playlist, not sure if that is the cause. The behaviour might also be related to casting/playing on a different output device but this has also happened when playing music on the selfsame device.
Very frustrating.
Seems to be working fine now. Thanks, Lyubka!
This is happening for me with playlists too. The queue looks fine but playlists will spontaneously start at the beginning (multiple times, I’ve counted 4 times in about an hour before). Double checked that loop and repeat are not enabled (turned them on and off just in case).
Ah, there’s an open issue: https://community.spotify.com/t5/iOS-iPhone-iPad/iOS-Android-Playlists-keep-starting-from-the-beginn...

Same issue as described by others, playlist spontaneously starts over. Variable timing, sometimes I can get 15 songs in before it restarts, sometimes I just listen to the same three songs in perpetuity before I realise it and manually skip down the playlist. Also happens when I am listening on Google Home device (but controlling music from iOS app).
(will try restarting as described)
