[iOS/iPhone] Spotify app displayed completely broken

[iOS/iPhone] Spotify app displayed completely broken

Spotify Premium Family

Device

iPhone 11 128GB

Operating System

iOS 14.2 (18B92)

Spotify 8.5.84.680

My Issue

- I'm listing to music from Spotify app (Spotify app is in foreground) through my car headunit (A2DP bluetooth)

- I lock iPhone (display goes off)

- I wake up iPhone and unlock through Face-ID

- Spotify app is displayed really weird (see attached screenshots and screen recording)

IMG_8250.PNG shows Spotify, when I wake up the iPhone in portrait position. IMG_8251.PNG shows Spotify, when I wake up the iPhone in landscape position.

This issue is NOT always reproducable!

Hey there @allesmatze,

Thank you for your post here in the Community. We're happy to help.

In this case we suggest that you perform a clean reinstall of the app to make sure there's no old cache files causing this.

If that doesn't do the trick - can you log in with another account on the device - such as a friend's or a family member's to see if the issue persists?

It would also be great if you can let us know which version of the app you have.

We'll keep an eye out for your reply 🙂

Cheers!

Live, love, laugh and listen to music 🙂

Which app version I use is already reported in the original post.

Now I'm on 8.5.85.836. Cleared cache, reinstalled app, used other account.

Still I could reproduce wrecked up screen (see attached screenshot).

Hey @allesmatze,

Thanks for getting back to us and sorry for the misunderstanding.

Does this happen only when connected to the head unit or also with other devices? Does it come up when using the app on your iPhone by itself?

If you have the option to test it with another account as @Jeremy suggested that would also help us get to the bottom of this quicker.

Keep us posted. We’ll keep an eye out for your reply.

It also happens when listening on the iPhone itself or via Spotify Connect on Sonos speakers.

Hi there @allesmatze,

Thanks for the info.

Can you tell us if this happens when your Bluetooth connection is off.

Also, can you try asking a friend to log in with their account on your device, or create a test account with another email address and use that for a day or two. This will help us determine if the issue is account related, since we weren't able to reproduce this ourselves.

Cheers.
