I have an iPhone and have set a couple of playlists to be synced and available offline. And when first set up it worked fine and I could listen to them offline. But I've had to re-sync them several times. I have to do it right now. Why does this keep happening? Spotify un-syncs my playlists and makes them unavaible offline. It's very tiresome and will beextremely annoying if it happens whn I'm out of wifi or out of the country!
[EDIT] I've just noticed it's also 'lost' the local tracks I'd synced from my personal computer so they presumably won't be available until I can get the two devices together again. This is really annoying that it seems to happen without warning and under circumstances I can't predict.
Any clues how to stop this happening?
OK David thanks I'll give that a whirl, although the app is up to date on my phone. Worth a try, albeit annoying as I've just re-synced!
I'm having the same exact issue, and it happens constantly. Ill sync all of my local files, it will work for a little while and then next thing I know its missing all the synced local files as well as my starred tracks.
this happens to me ALL THE TIME! it usually seems to occur if the app boots up slowly, i assume which is most likely to occur when on a slow cell connection or if lots of apps are running. i don't know how this hasn't been fixed yet. this has occured off and on since the introduction of the app for me. i am one bug away from cancelling my subscription, this is ridiculous.
Yepp, this happens to me as well. A LOT.
Songs marked for Offline-mode is lost at random. Sometimes it's just a few, sometimes it's several songs in different playlists. And some songs have been required to resync more than once.
Seems like Offline-mode is not working, and being able to keep songs in Offline-mode is the main reason I pay for Spotify.
Hi David
It happened again last night on my phone. Spotify told me I had more than three devices in offline mode, then wiped the sync for my playlists and local files off my phone.
I have my home laptop and phone synced/offline playlists only. I pay a monthly fee for this service.
Please advise, as it's currently annoying but I'm going overseas at Easter and will be really cross if it happens then... 😞
Thanks, Mark
I have also the problem with Spotify suffering from amnesia. At home I load song for offline use at work they are disappeared.
First I thought it has sth to do with restarting the iPhone but I did not restart the phone.
Besides that I cannot sync any local-only file via the desktop app. Devices see each other but it just says pending. Playlist with Spotify source work (unless after some hours the songs are gone). But think it's a different issue.
The whole amnesia thing startet with the 0.6.0 version before it was all going well. I reinstalled Spotify iOS as well as the Mac app several times. iOS version is 6.1.0.
Haven't had this issue since they killed it months ago, now it's back in the new Spotify. Instead of giving a weird error message I just see the "available offline"-slider go from 1 to 0. God dammit, this is truly not cool.
This happens to me all the time. Totally random, you start up Spotify, it doesn't rembember you so you log in again and when you do all your synced playlists have to be downloaded again. It's a REALLY annoying issue.
iPhone 5 running the latest version of iOS by the way.
It's annoying when it loses synced songs, but what's even worse is when it re syncs songs with the edited versions. I then have to go through and search for the unedited version to add to my playlists. Blah
