offline sync

I know there are a lot of posts regarding the subject but I have been unable to find any real answer and often the scenario is slightly different than mine. I have no problem syncing songs to offline mode except for the local files i.e the songs that arent on spotify that I downloaded to my computer and were picked up as local files. Now I would have just assumed that since theyre not on spotify they cant be downloaded to my phone but about half of them do download. There seems to be no correlation as to whether the song is itunes synced to my phone. A song will randomly sync to offline mobile spotify while others might randomly become unsynced. I follow all of spotifys steps for offline sync but have not found a solution. Anyone been successful? 🙂
