10 Hour Limit On Downgrade From Unlimited To Free

According to my account page, it appears if I want to downgrade from my unlimited to a free account I'm back to the old 10 hour limit (and adverts), whereas if I sign up for a new free account I have unlimited play (but with adverts) - that hardly seems fair since I've been with Spotify since it's inception. Obviously I could just sign up for a new free account but then I will lose 5 years worth of playlists!!

I would just contact Support and tell them you would like to transfer your playlists to another email address and open a new account. Probably not the answer you were looking for, but it will solve your problem and won't take that long to accomplish. Happy Holidays!

Free account time limits where removed in the majority of markets recently!

You have no need to worry then, I can confirm free time limits have been removed in the UK. You should be good to go with your current account once you downgrade!

Thanks. I'll have to wait until my subscription expires to confirm the 10 hour limit doesn't kick in.

Spotify free does still have restrictions in Turkey outlined on the Terms page (as they are slightly different to other countries):
