Account Hacked

Account Hacked

Hi there

I've been using Spotify for years, but i think my account got hacked recently, because i'm seeing all these songs in my activity that I don't recognize..

What should i do in this case? Can someone help me? I already changed my password and such, will that fix it?

Hey, sbtang!

If you've been hacked my advice would be to consider how you got hacked in the first place to stop it happening again. If you log in via Facebook you should consider changing your Facebook password. You might also want to change the password on the email account connected to your Spotify/Facebook account.

Once you've changed your passwords I'd advise you to head over to:

https://www.spotify.com/account/overview/

Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Sign out everywhere' button. This will mean that anyone using your account will be kicked out and will need your new passwords to get back in.

If the issue happens again, make sure to let Spotify Customer Support know via the contact form:

https://www.spotify.com/about-us/contact/contact-spotify-support/?contact

You will get an automated reply at first. Just respond to that (even if it is from a 'noreply' address) and you will get through to an advisor who may be able to find out what has happened and will certainly be able to assist you in securing your account.

Stay safe and have fun with Spotify! 😉
