Hello! Welcome to the Spotify Community.
From what I've researched, there are a few things you can do!
Go to Edit Profile on your Spotify account page and confirm that the date is correct.
If this continues to be rejected, follow the age verification instructions when they appear in the app or on the website. This may include document verification.
This verification is necessary in some cases to ensure that the age provided is accurate.
I'm here to help if you need further guidance! 🎧💚
Dear ribezaz.
Thanks for your advice, but unfortunately my problem is I'm unable to create my daughter's account in the first place. So the problem is during the account creation process. It seems like a mistake in that verification.
Any further ideas?
Kind regards.
Hey again @OwenJB,
Thanks for returning with this additional info.
In Spain, currently the minimum required age for signing up is 14 years and this would explain why you're unable to create a separate account for your daughter.
There is, however, an option to create a managed account for her which we think that would be suitable for you. This way, your daughter can have a separate account and music recommendations for her while you as a parent have control over the managed account's settings. More info you can read in this article.
We hope this info helped clear things up and we remain a post away if you've got any other questions.
Dear @Ivelina,
Thank you for this information. Please can you post a link to the specific "minimum age requirement for Spain" information, which you indicate is 14 years old. I cannot locate it.
Kind regards.
Hi again @OwenJB.
We're always updating our public facing systems to follow local legal requirements yet for various legal reasons, the minimum age displayed in our guidelines might not always accurately reflect the minimum age required to create an account with us in some markets. If someone tries to sign up, but falls below the minimum age requirement, an error message will be displayed and the system will not allow them to sign up until they fulfill the requirements.
We remain here if there's anything else we can assist you with.
