Can’t login to app but can login to website premium account

Can’t login to app but can login to website premium account

I can login in to the website fine but can’t login to the app, I get a ‘something went wrong’ message. Using my email address and password to login on apple device.

 

ive tried:

updating my password and logging out of all devices

using the long user number to try to login

Deleting everything after the @ as my username and trying to login

uninstalling and reinstalling spotify

clearing the cache

 

still can’t get it to work. Website works fine and I’m positive I’m using the correct password.

So I have it solved partially. My problem is with my carriers dns it seems

-If I use 1.1.1.1 By Cloudflare I can get full access without issue.

-if i use a vpn to my home wifi I can get full access again. (My home vpn uses 1.1.1.1 as a dns upstream server)

-if i use PIA VPN I can get logged in but non .downloaded songs are still greyed out.

-if i use nothing I cant even login

 

so maybe a dns fault with certain carriers? Which technically is probably something on spotifys end to be honest.

 

short answer/solution: install 1.1.1.1 by cloudflare. Its free and fixed my issues.

Am having the exact same issue, has been ongoing since 5:30am this morning. Anyone got a solution for us? Seems to be Spotify side rather than carrier.

I’ve made no progress yet, still having the same issue.

I am also having this problem. Incredibly annoying. What am I paying for?

Same problem here, ( London, UK ). I even updated the account's password, but so far I can only log in to the account, web player and desktop app ( OS X ). If I try to log in on my iPhone ( iOS15 ) with the same credentials, it won't work.

 

In addition to that, I find bizarre that if in the Account settings, I click on "Set Device Password" ( technically designed to log in on "devices" if the account was originally created via a Facebook login ), it actually resets the whole ( main ) account's password, making the next login impossible anywhere ( unless I use the new "device password" ).

 

Help... 

Checked again this morning, issue is still ongoing. Does anyone know or any other way of getting in contact with Spotify? They don’t seem to check these comments.

Same here. plus wont let me login through facebook which has been set up with spotify login since 2016. Also before this happened I could only "shuffle play" songs from my playlists (have always had premium and always worked) but now its greyed out and will only shuffle so I reinstalled and then couldnt log back in and have tried every way possible to do so 😞 

I have the same issue. I could only play downloaded tracks so i tried logging out and logging in again- but now cant login. Wont allow me to use one click email login. Can log into web app but this wont allow me to play music tracks.

 

is there a way to speak to someone from spotify re this? Doesnt seem like they monitor these forums.

I got on the online chat and was told it’s probably ‘a carrier issue’ which it obviously is not. Very frustrating paying for a service I can’t use!

disconnected all devices still no joy.

i have a new iPhone and haven’t been able to log in since I got it.

can log in on the desktop though.

Yesterday I had a chat with their support and that's what they shared:

 

"Upon checking, our best tech folks are still doing an upgrade ( 😰!? ) that's why you're currently unable to access the in the meantime, sorry to keep you waiting"

 

and

 

"I understand this must be frustrating, but hopefully, it shouldn't be too much longer for a fix"

 

and

 

"for now I suggest trying again to check your app at a later time."

 

Basically, a bunch of **bleep**.

I still can't login from my iPhone ( correct username & password ) but I can log on web ( even from Safari Mobile ) and from the desktop app ( OS X ).

I am a Premium subscriber for a service that I can't use on my favourite device ( my phone ).

I'll give it another day, then I'll switch to Apple Music and ciao Spotify.

It started working back as usual, just now. Without me having to do anything ( I tried again to log in from the iOS App, and it worked ).

I am still not impressed about Spotify making changes behind our back, making their service essentially unusable even for paid members. I'll keep that in mind.

Had this issue for a long time trying to pair my apple TV with my spotify and needed to log in on my phone, but kept dealing with the annoying oops something went wrong message.

 

For some reason if you open up a private tab on your safari and do the same steps, the log in should work without any problem. Hope this helps!

I had exactly the same problem. İ could enter my Spotify account via the browser, but not via the App. Solution: instead of using the Wi-Fi to connect to Spotify, I used my mobile phone network and I could enter the Spotify App again.
