Hi there,
I've converted my premium account to a family account today. So far so good. I've invited my wife (till now: free Spotify account) as a Spotify family member. When she tries to accept the invitation, she gets the following error:
In German: "Wir konnten Dich leider nicht zu Premium Family hinzufügen, da Dein Konto im selben Land eröffnet sein musst, wie das Konto des Premium Family-Inhabers."
In English: "We couldn't add your account to Premium Familiy because your account must be opened in the same countriy as the account of the Premium Family owner."
This is not true: Both accounts are German accounts - both accounts show "DE" (German) account types in the account profile.
What can we do to solve this issue?
Thanks!

"I have got this working. Go into your account and make a change to something in your profile (I changed my email address). My country code was then changed from GB to gb. My son could then accept his link!! "
Worked for me.
No, not until now.
i have the same problem.
Country NL, my family members can't join.
I'm having this same exact issue myself (in U.S.) My premium account is set to US, hell the zip codes of my account and my family memebers free accoutns are all the same.
Yet they cannot join...
Have the same problem, though my account states "SE" (capital letters) and the account I'm trying to invite states "se". I guess there is some kind of code error that matches the string of the countrycode by 1:1.
I have same problem. My country seen "tr" and family members seen "TR". It has capital letter bug i think.
Hey guys!
Sorry to hear that your are having some issues here! Does the sub-accounts have the same addres as the main account?
Head over to your account overview: https://www.spotify.com/uk/account/overview/
Thanks

Hi, having the same issue here (PE), was looking for a solution.
Same issue for me (USA) - Created another thread with screenshots of everything.
Same problem here.
Both accounts in Germany.
Main account premium, sub-account free.

Have the same problem and this doesn't work for me because I signed up via facebook. Spotify tells me, I can only change my profile information on my facebook account page. No direct changes on my profile page possible.
Have you managed to fix it when you created the profile via facebook? My wife created her account via facebook when we were living abroad and now we can't add her to the family account...
I had the same problem! I moved back to the same country as my family, so I changed my country. My Mum's account was showing "IE" for the country code, and mine was "ie", so it wasn't working. I logged out and back in, and my country code had changed to "IE", and so my link worked fine.
So, maybe it's a turn-it-off-and-on-again situation? Try logging out and then back in and check your country code?
I have the same problem in Belgium. My FB account is on Belgium, my Spotify is on Belgium, but when you see profile details it states NL (Netherlands), if you however click on these details for EDIT profile it states BE (Belgium). My daughter cannot login from the same address (not using FB login, but login trough e-mail).
I've been paying for Family already for months and we cannot use it!
HOW CAN IT BE SOLVED!!!???
Hello,
I have the same problem. For some reason I cannot add my spouse to my family account although we live under the same roof. It says we are in a different country. Can someone please help?
Tried editing my profile (which it wont let me), using a different browser and private mode. Nothing worked.
Thank you,
Yan
