I listen to a wide range of music, but it's often classical... and I don't really appreciate this AI guy telling me we're going to "hit it up" with some Chopin or some Mozart. It was funny for about 5 minutes, but now it's just annoying. I don't like his ridiculous accent. A clean/smooth/neutral accent would be far more appropriate, or at the very least, a way to turn it off. I like what's being played/queued but I don't like listening to this accent. How can I get rid of it?
Solved! Go to Solution.
When I play the DJ on my Sonos speaker the voice is not supported. I get the mix without the voice.
Over 100 likes and nearly two years later, and still nothing has been done about this. The related "feature request" that was linked to in Spotify's staff response in this thread has hundreds of responses with people saying they're quitting the app and moving somewhere else because they hate the feature. How can a company be this neglectful to its paying customers? As a developer, it would probably take me less than 10 minutes to code an option to disable the voice... there is really no excuse not to bring this in. It's not in any way invasive to have an option to disable the voice, but it IS invasive to FORCE people to listen to this happy yappy chappy with his intellectually challenged accent and slang that you would expect from confused teenagers. It's literally INSANE that all of us have been paying for years to have these bullsh!t interruptions "yo yo yo we gon get it kickin wid Mozart right here". - F* off, will you? It's not even funny anymore, it's just embarassing and stupid. I don't know what kind of **bleep** you have to be to think this is cool, but it's not my crowd at all, and clearly I'm not alone here. In other scenarios, when you force people into something they don't want, it's usually criminal. At this point, the DJ's voice should also be criminal... he's basically half way there already with his stupid accent.
While I completely agree with what you are saying, I am confused why I was notified as this being the solution. This issue has been marked as solved with your response being the solution. I fear it wont actually get solved now.
@indescription
They originally marked their own answer as the solution, which is why I responded today. I didn't see any other option to unmark their own solution without marking something else. - Another ingenius UX innovation by Spotify. Presumably, if they haven't solved it in 2 years and are now marking it resolved with**bleep** answer, it will never get resolved anyway. The other thread has hundreds of responses and they haven't listened.
Seems like out of touch tech nerds are trying to avoid being cancelled or they think black people will make a nerdy AI feature "cool" by including black people AI voices. Spotify, copilot, and Gemini all have a default black person AI voice? Give me a break.
It would be cool to have different voices
It has been 2 years. Surely by now we could get a dj voice that sounds like someone we would want to listen to. A lot of us are not inner urban Americans.
I like the idea of the AI DJ, I dislike the DJ X voice so much that expressing how really feel about DJ X would probably get my account banned. I'd like to have more DJ voice type and style options. Do it. You have the tech and the gazillions of dollars. Do something innovative with it.
I just changed it to Spanish as I would rather not understand what is being said rather than listen to that ridiculous so called English AI voice
