I can log into my current account using the previous email address

My Question or Issue

I changed my email address, yet someone else can still log into my current account using the previous email address. However on every platform under Change Email Address says that it is already set to the changed email address. Why is this happening and how do I fix this?

TLDR: I can access my Premium account using 2 different email addresses, but the account settings say that it's already and only linked to the current one. How do I remove the other email address so they can't access my account?

Thanks for coming to the Community.

It shouldn't be technically possible for one Spotify account to be associated with two email addresses.

Keep in mind that you can be logged into two Spotify accounts on one device. For example, one account through the website and the other in the app. For some info on how to locate any additional account(s) you may have, check out this FAQ article 🙂

Additionally, if you're using Spotify's mobile app, you can head into the Settings and click on Account. You'll be able to see your username as well as the associated email address there. Then you can log into https://www.spotify.com/account/profile/ to double-check it.

Thanks for replying. I found out that I can log in using 2 different methods (manual and Google) that used 2 different email addresses and got confused thinking it was supposed to be the same. I got it sorted out by removing the Google Log in method and its email address.
