My Question or Issue
I have recently released a new single under my account, "Alec B", and wanted to claim my profile on Spotify. However, I seemed to have picked a different profile with the same artist name, and I am unsure how I can revert this and gain access to my account and only my account. I also tried multiple times trying to add my correct artist profile, but it almost seems Spotify doesn't know the correct profile exists...I will answer any other questions you may have about the issue. Thanks.

Hey @alecb30994,
The artist's team should be able and help further with this. Can you let me know what you mean by a quick form they sent you? Were you able to get in touch with a person or did you just get an automated response?
Keep me posted.
Hello, I’m having the same problem did you ever figure out how to solve this problem?
Hey @GoodGuy123, thanks for reaching out!
Are you able to get in touch with the Spotify for Artists team here? They are the best point of contact as they can take a closer look and do their best to help.

Same exact thing is happening to me now, did you ever get a solution?
Hey everyone, I think I found a way to solve this issue; It's a little bit long but I'll say it anyway for those who might come across this issue in the future cause this was what worked for me.
I was trying to link my account to a new profile following my new release but I kept getting logged into a different one which was why I couldn't even get to the "claim artist" page. I realized that it was because of my email.
To make it easier for you guys to understand what I'll be talking about, here are some things to take note of:
- An Artist's Profile is managed by an admin (under 'Your Teams' on the left menu of your homepage).
- An Artist's Profile can be accessed by logging in with the "admin"'s email
- This admin's email is probably going the same one as your Spotify account's. Why exactly? See below.
To get onto the "claim artist" page, you need to log into Spotify. After this, you'll pick the profile you used to release music under and claim it. HOWEVER, if you accidentally link the wrong profile, you can't get onto the claim artist page again to claim the correct account because remember, you'll be taken to log into Spotify first, but when you do so, you will also be automatically logged onto the wrong profile. This is because Spotify doesn't recognize whether you're logging in to get to the "claim artist page" or logging in to get into a profile - Remember when I said that the admin's email of the profile you accidentally linked was going to be the same as your Spotify account's?
SOLUTION: Add a new admin in the 'Your Team' section on the WRONG PROFILE you're being logged into. This way, you can remove the current admin (which shares the email of your Spotify account). Here's exactly what I did:
- Created a new Spotify account with a secondary email
- Go and get logged onto the WRONG account so I could invite the secondary email as a new admin
- Once I accepted myself with my secondary email, I was now able to remove the current admin which shared the email of my Spotify account
- After that, I was finally able to proceed to the "claim artist" page when I was prompted to log in (instead of being automatically logged into a wrong profile since now, the wrong profile had an admin with an email that was different from my Spotify account's)
In conclusion, the problem lies with Spotify's system of being unable to distinguish if you're logging in to claim an artist's profile vs ordinary logging in - when you're trying to get to the "claim artist" page and you log in when you're prompted, Spotify seems to forget the previous task and just thinks you were simply logging in to a profile instead of taking you back to "claim artist".
Anyway, hope this helps someone!
