I pay for Premium but I changed my Spotify password and now I'm on the free version

I pay for Premium but I changed my Spotify password and now I'm on the free version

I've been paying for Premium for about 2 years now. Earlier this week due to a concern about my login/password details having been leaked, I changed my Spotify password. Now, when I log back in I am on the FREE version, even though the most recent payment for Premium came off my credit card only a week ago. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app from both my desktop and my iPhone, but that has not helped.

Please help - I don't want to cancel my Spotify, but neither do I want to keep paying for something I'm not receiving.

Hey @user-removed,

It sounds like you've got a second account with Spotify. Are there any other email addresses you could have used to register with Spotify? It's worth checking those inboxes to see if you have any Spotify emails--that will mean your extra account is registered with that email.

  • If you don't have another email address, note how you log into the Spotify app usually.
  • If you use your Facebook details try entering your Spotify username (if you created one originally).
  • If you use your Spotify username try entering just your email address.

Hi Maxim

Thanks for your message. I only have the one email address registered with Spotify. I don't have Facebook connected to my Spotify. I tried changing my username to my email address and logging in that way, but got an error message saying my username or password was incorrect.

A girl I work with said her partner had this same issue about a month ago and had to re-upgrade to Premium, so I will do the same, and will just keep an eye on my credit card account to make sure I'm not being billed twice.

Thanks

Amber

Looks like all my playlists are gone for good though, which is really sodding annoying.

I have a similar problem. I have a registration with email and i'm paying premium subscription, but I entered one time with facebook connection and I lost my playlist and my premium condition, I try to reenter whith email but it no work, I reset my password, and now, only can enter with spotify user (with the original email asignated), or with facebook, but in both i'm not premium and i haven't got my playlist...

Can anyone help me?

Thanks in advance.
