I thought I canceled my premium trial, but I was charged

Solved!

I thought I canceled my premium trial, but I was charged

I set a reminder on my phone to cancel the subscription. I distinctly remember the cancellation process, but I got charged today. I logged into my account to double check and SURPRISE! It didnt get cancelled for some reason? I went through the cancellation process again and realized it's probably because of the terrible user experience when users are trying to cancel the subscription.

Seriously, why is there a link to "keep subscription" on the left of the "cancel subscription" button? In the same text/size??? I only remember going through the first cancel screen, but now I know I probably accidentally clicked on 'keep subscription' because I was rushing.

This is a cheap trick to retain premium subscription. If you look at my user activity, I probably only used my account for 4days max. I want a refund on my card because I didn't even know that I was still under the premium subscription.

Hi anhwedding. When canceling a subscription the process isn't actually finalized until you get a confirmation email that it went through. I can understand your frustration, however, Spotify does not typically grant refunds. You are more than welcome to get in touch with support, but please do keep in mind that a refund is not guaranteed. Please note that if you receive an automated email directing you to the community and/or help boards, make sure you reply directly to that email (even if it is from a no reply address) and support will get back to you as soon as possible.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

The same exact thing happened to me, and it charged me randomly this month, and now I have an overdraft fee as well!! I need to speak with somebody about this.

I recommend reaching out to Spotify Support. They can be reached through their Twitter Handle @SpotifyCares, Facebook Page Spotify Cares, or through the online contact form. If you submit the contact form instead of the Twitter or Facebook Message, make sure to check your inbox and junk folder for an email from Spotify.
