Ineligible for Student Discount?

When I tried to redeem the £4.99 student discount via Unidays, I received a message stating "It appears that you are not eligible for the discounted product that you are trying to purchase. If you'd like you can still upgrade your account to premium at any time." I thought perhaps this was because I had an existing premium subscription, so I cancelled it and tried to redeem the student discount again, but got the same message? 

Does anyone know why I might not be eligible?

Who is eligible for the student discount?

All UK students with an NUS Extra card or UNiDAYS account. Don't have either? You can register for UNiDAYS directly through our Spotify Student Discount page, or visit the NUS Extra website and get a card for £12.
