I have received the email address change verification email but when I click on the link to verify I get the message "Unable to connect
Firefox can’t establish a connection to the server at wl.spotify.com."
How can I verify the email address change?

Thanks for getting back.
In that case, I recommend trying it again using a different internet connection, since accessing wl.spotify.com is working just fine on my end (using 3 different connections with different DNS servers). 🙂

I did try on a different device (mobile rather than desktop, although with Firefox again).
In this forum I found that several other people have reported the same problem over several years (going back to 2017 I think) and none seem to have found a solution. When the problem was understood by respondents, the advice was usually to try a different browser or a different device.
After that (and after seeing other topics where people seemed to lose access to there account altogether) I became a bit worried that I might lose access so I reverted my email address to the old one. (Although I note that emails I've received from this community since then are going to the new email address.)
I would still like to change my email address in Spotify, but I think the process is too flaky to risk it for now.

No worries - it’s safe to give it another go.
Just make sure any ad-blockers or VPNs are switched off on both devices, as those can sometimes cause that error message. If it still pops up, try opening the link in a different browser and see if that does the trick.
Also, just a heads-up: your Community account is linked to your main Spotify account. That means any notifications should go to the email address currently registered on your Spotify profile. You can check and confirm it here: spotify.com/account/profile 🙂

I tried again, using a different browser and device as suggested (using Vivaldi on my phone).
I got a more detailed and specific error message this time:
"This site can't be reached
wl.spotify.com refused to connect
Try:
Checking the connection
ERR_CONNECTION_REFUSED"
That seems to indicate that the problem is at the spotify.com end.
Thanks also for the heads-up about the email address and the Community link to my profile. The latest Community email was sent to my old email address, ie is now consistent with my Spotify profile.

Ok, I tried again as suggested (over the mobile network instead of the home wifi) and it seems to have worked. I got a confirmation message.
Next, I think I'll watch what happens because, as mentioned, I'd reverted to my old address after the earlier failed attempts.
After everything has settled down, I'll try to change the email address again.
