How can I place my accont on a temporary hold?

Unfortunately there is no way to pause an account. You can cancel your subscription and let it run out, at which point after you will revert to a free account and not be charged, or you can again, cancel your account, and then contact support and see about having them potentially refund what you wont be using from that subscription period. And then once you're ready you can just go ahead and re-subscribe to a premium account.
