My Question or Issue

Today my username changed to the generated characters (22vaxffl7lquxplcduvkxilqa) rather than my original name i've been using for months now.

When you search for my original name (Michael Mendonça) you can still see in the results, but on the page goes back to 22vaxffl7lquxplcduvkxilqa, as it also appears on my friends activity list.

I've seen a few people with this problem a couple years ago and seems like they just created another account, wich would be impractical to me since i already have my premium subscription setup, as well as my musical history and preferences in this account.

Any suggestions/solutions?
Thanks in advance.

Hey @samushenkov, and @Mikeavelic.

It seems like your Facebook account got disconnected from the Spotify account, which might be why the username turned into random numbers and letters. There's a Spotify Answer explaining what might've happened, and how to re-connect Facebook here.

Let me know if you need any help :)

Hope you're doing great!

I understand your concern. Right now, there isn't a way to change your username - but there's more info and some alternative options here.

I hope this helps! Let me know if you need any more help :)

Thank your for your reply.
Yeah, i've seen this before, it didn't help.

Logout then in again doesn't change anything.

It's not a new account, nor i want to change my username, just want it as it was before.
I noticed i lost the connection from my spotify account to my facebook account and can't reannable it for some reason.

On desktop there's no Facebook options in the Social tab as described here
And on mobile, when i try to Connect to facebook i get the error message as seen in the attached image

I do have totally the same issue. Can't login anymore with my username. Web Player still shows right one, but account page shows random characters. Everything was fine several days ago.
