Unable to Log-in / Ubuntu Linux

Unable to Log-in / Ubuntu Linux

I recently shifted to Linux as my primary OS and I've had nothing but issues trying to log-in.

Everything was installed correctly, but when I attempt to log-in via Facebook (which is what my account is connected to) it tells me I'm unable to log-in due to the Spotify system being down.

This has been on-going since last week and it's incredibly frustrating, I made a forum post about this earlier but recieved no response. Not sure how to contact support, so I'm kinda stuck where I'm at - I'm still using Premium and I'd prefer to avoid losing 6 years of Music by switching my accounts.

I had exactly the same problem running Ubuntu 17.04. Try this, at least it helped me:

Click "reset password" in the spotify app and type the email adress you are using with facebook. Spotify will remind you, that you are using a facebook account to log in and you have to change your password on facebook directly. Now go back to the login screen of the spotify app and try to log in with your facebook email address and your facebook password, but not by clicking on "login with facebook". Hope that works for you too. Cheers!
