cant login via facebook account - different country problem - when no country is selected in faceboo

well I have the "different country-login" problem (similar to this https://community.spotify.com/t5/Help-Android/Different-country-problem-when-logging-in-with-Faceboo...) when trying to login on my deskop spotify-version (windows10). The twist is, that I have not (and do not want to) set a country in my facebook profile. 

the country shown in the spotify profile settings, which I can see online, matches my current location. 

any way to solve this, without setting a country in the fb-profile or upgrading to premium? (I use the free license)

Hey @user-removed,

The problem is that if you opened your account with Facebook, your country is tied to the country shown in your Facebook account, so you'd need to change it in your Facebook profile (which you don't want to).

My suggestion would be for you to create a new account with a different email address from the one you use for Facebook. That will give you a Spotify username of your choice, so you won't have to rely on Facebook anymore.

Once you've made it, fill out the contact form and someone from Spotify will help you migrate your library, playlists, friends, etc. to this new account.

If you like you can link this new account to your Facebook again, but now you won't have to rely in the Facebook login process, since you'll have your very own Spotify username, and you'll be able to edit your country at will.
