spotify randomly play music from the same chinese artist the same time everyday

hi, my account start playing songs from one chinese artist at the same time (3:54pm UTC+7) everyday for the past 4 days in a row now, and I'm not sure why.

Yes, I already change password.
Yes, I've checked nobody has controlled over what music I've played.

What more do I needed to check?

Edit: This has yet not been resolved ,seems like spotify accounts got breach to stream this chinese artist and the problem still occuring. For me I got it resolved by logging out of all devices but I don't know how others are doing.

If you got the same problem please take time to reply so the dev can see this more and eventually maybe help faster. ( but with this occurrence I'm just gonna move to apple music haha )

Hey folks,

Thanks for all your replies and reports.

Our tech folks continue looking into this. We recommend you log out everywhere and remove all the apps connected to your account. To do it, go to your account page and, under Security and privacy, locate Manage apps. If you notice anything suspicious there, make sure you remove it with the REMOVE ACCESS button. You can easily reconnect all the apps you do recognize later. 

Afterwards, check in the coming days to see if you notice any difference in this behavior.

In the meantime, make sure you're always running the latest version of Spotify so you don't miss out on any updates.

This is happening to me. I also changed my password but it's still popping up every time I open my computer it's the first song playing. It's also started playing randomly in the middle of the night!

@everyone, mine finally stopped playing this song because I changed my password to something complicated. So far everything goes normal, like usual. Hopefully Spotify will fix this asap because it clearly disturbs us

Same artist. Happening mostly at night while my kids are sleeping, so thanks for that. Just started disconnecting all the Alexa’s in the house. Spotify needs to get a patch out soon. This is becoming unacceptable.

Clearly this is a hack stop putting this on the user Spotify this is clearly bigger than us.  If I have to stop running every morning to turn this off I’ll have to go elsewhere to find music that doesn’t bust my groove every morning at the same time!!!

My Question or Issue

My Spotify automatically opens and play these Chinese songs in this same album almost everyday at 5:30pm. I already uninstalled and changed password, but the same did not stop. Can you please resolve this issue? Thank you!

I just got back home from a run using my earbuds and watch, happily listening to a downloaded mix as I was offline. Then all of a sudden the music in my ears stops, and it's THAT SONG AGAIN, but this time it's coming out of my HEOS 7. No one else is home, and I did not initiate any sort of change.

This is unacceptable. It's been going on for weeks now, other users are reporting the exact issue, yet we get nothing but silence from Spotify who seem unwilling or unable to do anything about the behaviour.

I'll be cancelling in favour of another service now. You had your chance Spotify, I need to vote with my wallet from here.

I have the same problem with the same Chinese artist randomly playing all the time. It even just starts playing randomly when my computer is on, even when I am not actively playing anything through Spotify.

This is the EXACT song that mine was playing. If I had to guess, I'd bet there was a data breach at Spotify. It has since stopped for me. Fingers crossed. Attached my screenshot.

You can ask spotify for your technical data (they say the wait is 30 days but i got it in 3 days) and see if there has been any access from IP locations you don't recognise. When I searched our data there were at least 20 occasions where our account had been accessed from other IP addresses across many different countries, Nigeria, Indonesia, cambodia, thailand, egypt. We are based in the UK. Spotify only notified me once of someone accessing our account from a new device. I will also be looking at other options due to the lapse security.

I logged out of all devices, spotify, google speakers and sonos and then changed all my passwords to something complex. So far it has stopped (it has been 3 days).

I submitted a ticket to Spotify but never heard back. Not sure what’s going on over there. I had luck by blocking the artist. So far so good!
