My Question or Issue

In one of the last updates, I have had a new issue with using Spotify in Android Auto.

When I go to select most playlists, they'll load up how they are supposed to. However, I have a playlist that I've had for years that now will not load and I get a message saying that "Spotify is not responding" on my radio screen.

I have tested this on the Kenwood unit in my 2008 truck, in both a 2021 and 2024 Ram, and a 2025 Bronco and it will not load on any of them. I have also tested it on my old Pixel 7 and it will not work. I have tried both wired (with different cables) and wireless Android Auto and it will not work. The playlist loads fine on the app when I'm not connected but will not through the head unit. I have also duplicated the playlist to see if that fixes it but it does not.

What is even more confusing is that the playlist will load if I select it in the offline/downloaded section but not in the normal playlist section. This leads me to my next issue that, as far as I can tell, Spotify has removed the ability to choose a song on a playlist by letter from an offline playlist. Instead, it defaults to a shuffle and doesn't give the ability to choose a song at all. Maybe it's just user error but if it's not, then I think it's a huge oversight to remove that functionality.

Am I doing something wrong or is there a fix to my issue?

Thank you for your help!

Also having the same issue, but with a massive playlist (1.5k+ on it, cause I'm a weirdo and just use liked songs)

Device: Galaxy Z Flip 6

Android Version: 15 - August 1st, 2025 Patch

Android Auto Version: 15.2.653614-release

Headunit(s): Sony XAV-AX150 and Dual XDCPA10BT

Having the same issue since August. Makes me have to pick up my phone while driving which is unsafe

I believe someone mentioned it in this thread, but I've had luck with going into the 'Library > Downloaded' section and launching the playlist from there.  I forget if this excludes the Radio DJ shuffle feature which I sometimes use - but it's better than nothing.

I'm having the same issue with Spotify in AA, and my liked songs playlist works fine in the phone app.  Been going on for at least a month now.  This is both annoying and dangerous, having to choose the playlist on your phone while driving ( voice commands don't always work properly)  Please fix this!

Exactly the same issue as everyone but my liked songs contains 12000 songs and are all download.

As of when posted.

Still doesn't work for me. Even with coachoach's workaround. 😞

Hi I have the same issue, have over 1000 liked songs, what I've realised is that if I don't download them then it's fine and works but once I've downloaded them that's when this issue happens.

I also have the same issue with my liked song used to work before but now if my songs are downloaded and I click liked songs on android auto I get the 'spotify not responding' but if I remove all my downloads then works fine which is frustrating.

Same problem here, I can't play liked songs from Android Auto with a Samsung S25 Ultra

Hello, @Joan, the solution provided by @K1NGKHAN has resolved the issue, so the problem lies with the downloaded playlist. If you could contact the development team, perhaps they can fix it, Thank you!

i just wanna add, since the appearance of the "Jam" button, the downloaded playlists doesn't work
