My Question or Issue

Android app registered SPOTIFY IS CURRENTLY OFFLINE when starting up. It takes about thirty seconds to clear. The offline mode is disabled anyway.

It then takes about 30 seconds+ to load My Library, if it doesn't crash.

A song will buffer for at least a minute before playing. Trying to skip a song is equally delayed.

Playing a podcast, will play for a couple of minutes before going silent, though the timer still shows it's playing.

I have tried, rebooting the device, uninstalling and reinstalling, clearing cache, removing the SD card, trying it without the SD card in, setting up another profile, deleting the android data file from the Files folder, I have switched off the canvas mode, played with the data saving mode, using different network connections, and have enabled background data for the app on my device. All have the same effect.

If I log in through the website, I can play without issue or delay, however the website doesn't allow me to access My Library but prompts me to download the app.

I don't have any other issue with apps on my phone being slow or not connecting to the internet.

Hey there @Philden82,

Thanks for reaching out here in the Community.

We understand you've already tried reinstalling the app. However, just to confirm, have you gone through the steps of a clean reinstall? This is more thorough than a regular one and can be helpful to get rid of any cache that might be causing trouble.

If this doesn't do the trick, it'd be worth checking if you experience the same thing when you log in to a different account on your phone. It could be a friend's, a family member's or a new account that you can create for testing purposes.

In addition to the above, you can also try logging in to your account from a different mobile device. This will help us see if the issue is account or device related.

We'll be on the lookout for your reply.

Hello,

Actually, i think i might have found the issue.

I had done a complete, clean reinstall, but that hadn't worked.
The app was installed on the device, but for unknown reasons i had data on my SD card, totalling a tiny 12mb. I think this was my profile and library data. I moved this over to the device, and everything seems to be working okay.
This could be that the sd card is getting old, though no other apps are having an issue, or that Spotify wasn't able to read it quick enough.
But it's sorted.

Thank you
