Android local MP3 starts spotify automatically

Android local MP3 starts spotify automatically

Without spotify installed on my Samsung Tab2, when I click on Mp3 file in 'my files', the mp3 player app starts and plays the mp3 file. However, when Spotify is installed, and I'm clicking on the same Mp3 file, the Spotify App starts, but the Mp3 file is not played. How can I play Mp3 files from 'my files' when Spotify is installed?

Kaaskoppie

Hi, when Spotify is installed go to Manage Apps->Spotify and click the 'Clear Defaults' button. Now find a .mp3 file and try to open it - it should give you a choice.

Choose your default program.

Have a read of the guides here to understand how spotify works with your own music then ask if you need any more help.

Hi Liam,

thanks for your reply. The App manager for Spotify does not to show the 'Clear Defaults' button (see attachment, Dutch version of Android).

Hmm, in that case there should be no defaults defined and it should prompt you to choose an app to play it with.

What version of Android are you running?

Liam

I've Samsung Galaxy Tab2, with Android version 4.0.3

If you install another mp3 player and select an mp3, you should get the option to select a default mp3 player again.
