I received a notification from Spotify that I could upgrade from Premium Individual to Duo for 2 months at no additional cost. But when I try to go in to change my Premium plan, I get stuck in a loop where it tries to load the information in a web page within the app, which tells me I need to make changes to my plan in the app itself, because my subscription is managed through Google Play.

My Question or Issue
I received a notification from Spotify offering me an upgrade from Premium Individual to Duo for 2 months at no additional cost. But when I try to go in to change my Premium plan, I get stuck in a loop where it tries to load the information in a web page within the app, which tells me I need to make changes to my plan in the app itself, because my subscription is managed through Google Play. And all I can do in the Google Play Store is to cancel my subscription, because it also tells me I need to make changes in the app.

Hi Joan, I tried all of these suggestions and I am still having the same issue. I am still stuck in the same loop of not being able to move forward with changing my subscription type.

Thanks for the clarification and testing this out!
Can you try subscribing directly through the Premium Duo page to see if you're able to claim the offer there? Just make sure you're logged in your account first (you can check in the upper right corner). You can also try an incognito window and a different device if you're still experiencing issues with switching the plans.

This method does not work, it tells me I need to use the app since I subscribed through Google Play. Screenshot attached. I am still unable to change my plan in the app. It seems like the app thinks I'm trying to use a web browser instead of trying to make changes in the app itself.
Edit: I have uploaded a short video showing what happens when I try to select a new plan in the app and the loop that I end up in.

In this situation we'd suggest switching your subscription plan after cancelling your current subscription and letting the account revert to the free tier 🙂 This will not remove any of your library items, only your offline downloads will have to be re-downloaded and you'll be missing the Premium app features for a little bit. Once on free, you should be able to select any plan & payment method without issues.
