Cannot remove song from queue anymore (since 2025)

My Question or Issue

The “Remove track from queue” option was removed from the queue with the last app-update for Android devices in January 2025.

What to expect

I can remove a song listed in the queue. (This was achieved until December 2024 by checking a song and removing it via an option at the top.)

What actually happens

The option to remove a song from the queue was removed from the app with the latest update in which the queue was obviously comepletly redesigned.

Can you let me know which device or devices this is happening on? I tried it on my Android 14 device but I couldn't replicate the issue - I can remove songs from the queue by going to the queue view > select the songs I want to remove and click 'Remove' at the bottom left corner. Also, can you send a screenshot of what your queue looks like?

Just to make sure this isn't a bug, I'd recommend you try having a clean reinstall of the Spotify app. Just follow these steps.

Morning, yes there is no option on my app too on the iPhone iOS 18.2.1. Spotify please adjust this. It makes no sense that the option was removed.

In the new queue, you can remove a single track by carefully swiping left from the three line hamburger icon.  Swipe right to "add to queue".  You can't swipe up or down or press & hold at all for the trash can to appear, so it's easy to miss this option.  Selecting multiple tracks at once does seem to be completely removed.

It's Android 14 and you didn't use the most current version of Spotify.

As of January 2025 there is no possibility anymore to select songs (new UI, no checkmarks).

Yes, swiping works. But "easy to miss this option" is euphemistic, it is actually cryptically concealed. If an UI needs a manual it is just bad design. (Feels like the intern designed this new queue UI between the holidays.)

And yes, selecting multiple item was removed.

I accepted this answer as solution, but still this is disappointing. Does anyone know how to file this as the obvious UX-/UI-bug it is?

I can't remove a song from the queue or swipe it to the right or left. To do this, I have to click on the circle in the queue and click on the trash icon, which is very inconvenient. I could have just yesterday. Honor 20 pro.

I can’t swipe left to remove a recommended song, I normally love the recommended songs feature as a great way to find new music. But I can’t remove any tunes, and I can’t clear the queue. This really spoiling my Spotify experience and I’m thinking of checking out Amazon music if this continues. Please fix it Spotify.

"Easy to miss" is a bit of a stretch considering it doesn't say anything anywhere, you would just have to figure it out.

The previous version was so much better, it gave the user all the freedom within the queue like adding/removing songs in one go and also pausing and skipping songs. Also seeing the songs within the queue section was helpful as you can see what you've personally selected as opposed to the playlist. This update completely ruins the listening experience and make users less inclined to use the app purely out of frustration due to the very poor update which is a downgrade to the previous version. It's not the first time we have experienced this newer version and every time it's reintroduced its a very negative experience and makes us question the thought process behind these executive decisions.Please correct this and revert back to the previous version asap. Thank you

Why is the listed as ‘Solved’? The left swipe doesn’t work for many users, including myself.

That guy has it wrong. Don't click the three lines. That is for moving the song up or down on the playlist. Click anywhere left of the three lines and swipe left to remove song. You know you're doing it right if the color starts turning red in the middle of swiping. When you get it all the way left a red trashcan will appear and the song will disappear.

This swipe feature needs to go, bring back the checklist, and use the blame feature to figure out who did this to your code 😢

I swear I tried this like 20 times, swiping left, right, up, down from the middle, from the album image and from the hamburger and nothing worked. Then I read your comment, tried for the 21st time and suddenly I finally saw the red trash icon. Terrible design, the discoverability of this feature is approaching zero.
