About 5 years ago, the Spotify app worked great! It was fast and reliable. Then the came out with an update that added way too much information to the mobile app which has choked it out and slowed it way down. Sometimes it takes 45 seconds to open so operating in offline mode has been necessary. I am requesting Spotify to get rid of the extra Artist info such as recommended songs, discography, etc when in offline mode as it use to be. With all the added info it makes it to where liked songs and the album it's on doesn't load as well as some Artists showing that you don't have any liked/downloaded songs when in offline mode. Clean it up so it loads and is reliable.
