My Question or Issue
Spotify works smoothly on my PC and the web page on the web. Unfortunately the app won't open on my phone, I'll click the app and it just backs out giving me a message saying "Something went wrong, Spotify closed because this app has a bug, try updating after its developer provides a fix for the error". The appstore has no update available for the app so I'm at a lost. I've reinstalled it, cleared cache, restated my phone, nothing has worked.

Once this changed happened, I have been unable to use the app. I log in with the correct credentials, but I that pesky pop-up notification "something went wrong TRY AGAIN" is plaguing my experience. I cleared cache, uninstalled/reinstalled, cleared data, don't use VPN, am using a Samsung Galaxy S25 w/ Android 16 and the most recent build released by T-Mo, & Spotify version 9.1.46.1936. what's the fix? Please and Thank you!
No.. still same issue
Thanks for your quick response. I do not have beta version and I miss-typed my Spotify version in my original comment. It is 9.1.46.1936. I can log into my account on Spotify website on my laptop without issue. When I am on 5G or wifi, it does not make a difference on my phone - I still get the same error message.
I experience the same thing as @giantsfan97 when it comes to functionality in the app - I can access part of my profile. Song history/podcast history. Nothing populates on my home screen except the error. I cannot listen to music or podcasts.
Hi again, @giantsfan97 and @1189_amt
Thanks for the response!
As you folks were telling us that the issue persists, could you have someone else log in with their account on your mobile devices? Such as a friend or a family member, to see if it makes any difference. You can even create a new account for testing purposes, if necessary. This will help us check if the issue might be account-related or not.
Also, if it's possible, try on a different mobile with your own accounts too.
We'll be waiting for your replies!
I made a new account and it worked last night (about 60 min) and then this AM for about 40 min. But then I got the same error. I listened to music on my run, but then it started skipping through songs on its own really fast. When I restarted the app, I got the same error message.
Thats not working for me
Hey guys,
I too have the same issue since this morning. My version is 9.1.46.1936. Working fine PC web and PC microsoft store app, but not working in my 2 mobiles and a samsung tab.
I'm not using beta version, tried clean reinstall method but in vain. No others have tried to logged in.
My spotify username: ******* (mod edit)
Email: **bleep**
Please check into my account and do something 🙂
I created a new account and things seem to be working normally, which is encouraging. @1189_amt noted that this worked for them, but only for a brief period of time. I will monitor this new account to see if it keeps working.
Even if this does work for me, I would like to have my original account fixed! This new account is not a long term solution for me.
The new account was working fine until I tried switching back to my original account. It was still bugged. I switched back to my new account and now it is bugged as well.
Oh no! I hope they can address this bug quickly. I use Spotify all the time and would love to continue to do so.
I have the same problem and none of this works for me.
Hi Paula, i am not able to play music or podcasts on the mobile app. Either music or podcasts shows an empty playlist so there isn't anything to play. I was initially on my mobile data connection before the connection got suddenly cut off, then I tried switching to wifi. My iPad and PC are both on the same wifi settings and they are working fine, just not the mobile app. Dessi's reset network settings doesn't help either.
I think there is nothing wrong on our side. Hope they resolve the issue promptly.

My Question or Issue:
This issue has been happening since at least Tuesday (May 5), and it still hasn’t been fixed.
Basically, the Spotify app is almost completely unusable for me right now. Whenever I search for any song, artist, or album, the results do not load correctly. Instead of showing normal results, it only shows a few random playlists that usually do not load their cover images properly. These playlists normally contain only around 3 songs, and none of the songs can actually be played.
When I open the app, I frequently get the message: “Something went wrong. Want to try again?”.
My playlists also appear completely empty, as if all songs disappeared. Sometimes they do not load at all. The Home page also usually does not load properly either. Sometimes the app keeps loading forever, but no content actually shows up.
I already tried several troubleshooting steps before contacting support:
Logged into a different Spotify account
Cleared cache and app data
Reinstalled the app completely
Restarted my phone multiple times
Restarted my internet connection/router
Tested both Wi-Fi and mobile data (4G)
Checked if battery restrictions or background limits were causing the issue
Unfortunately, none of these steps solved the problem.
Other apps and services work normally on my phone and internet connection, so the issue seems to be specifically related to Spotify.
At this point, I honestly have no idea what else to try anymore 🫥😭
I need help, my Spotify was acting up yesterday and would just skip songs by itself. I left it alone till today, but now I can't even see the songs in my playlist or even play them. I thought maybe it was hacked or something, but it works just fine on my desktop. When I open it on my phone, it just says something went wrong. I've tried to uninstall and reinstall it, and to clear the data and the cache, but nothing works. I know it's not my phone for a fact. I just don't know what to do. This has never happened before. I'm going crazy.
Same. Woke up today and the Spotify icon on the home screen was different. Subsequently, the Spotify app on both phone and tablet are not working. "Something is wrong please try again" on any interaction with the app. Tried clearing storage and cache, uninstalled then reinstalled, power cycled the device, and nothing has resolved the problem. People on reddit have described the same issue since the May 5th update.

I have the same issue when I open my home screen on the Spotify app, though I'm not told I have a big. it just shows the "Something Went Wrong. Have another go?" screen. I've tried hard reinstalling, getting rid of cache, changing wifi (I don't use a vpn) etc, and nothing has worked. it only works when I do it on the web, but not on the actual app
*mb, a few typos; I have a Google Pixel 9 pro. and I meant "bug" instead of "big." sorry!
Meu aplicativo aparece isso a um dia e nao consigo ouvir nenhuma música, não uso vpn, já limpei o cache, saí e voltei, ainda assim, não funciona.
