My Question or Issue

 The songs in a mixtape start where I last stopped listening to them, although another song was played before it.

Recreate:

* Start a mixtape

* stop the music at a random time (e.g. 1 minute) and remember the song

* close the app

* start the app later

* start the mixtapes at another song than the one we stopped at above

* wait for the song from step 2 to be played

* the song from step 2 will not start at the start, but where we stopped it in step 2 (at minute 1 in this example)

This annoyed me for quite a while now.

Hey @AliGinBerlin, welcome to the Community.

Hope you are doing great!

That is not an issue or a bug, that's how Spotify works. If you stop a song and close the app it will remain there and once you open it you can pick up where you left.

However, if you would like, you can submit it in Idea Submissions board or support it if this idea has been already submitted.

Hope it helps 🙂

I guess you did not understand the actual problem.

Resuming a playlist where I left off is absolutely okay.

But when I start the playlist all over (random or from the beginning) the e.g. 7th song should not start in the middle.

But currently you have the following situation:

* Start playlist / mixtape
* Hear 6 songs fully and stop the 7th song at 50s

* Stop the app - reopen the app

* Start the playlist at song 1 again

* Hear 6 songs fully

* Suddenly the 7th song starts in the middle at 50s

I would expect the 7th song to start at the beginning, as I started the playlist all over, and did not resume.

Hey @AliGinBerlin,

Sorry for the inconvenience!

I tried to reproduce your issue but it worked just fine for me.

Could you please sign out and sign back in several times or if possible could you sign in to another device with similar specs to see if the issue persists?

I know it sounds simple, but it's often overlooked. Could you try restarting your device? If that doesn't help, try a quick clean reinstall of the app. Just follow these steps.

If you're still having trouble, could you let me know the exact version of Spotify and the exact version of the operating system you're running?

I'll see what I can suggest next!
